Got some things accomplished last night. *PS* the underbody is dirty, I just drove across the country, usually I detail it once/month so no comments about the filthy underside, please
- Installed the stud kit, not sure why I didn't do this one sooner.. - Raised the rear suspension, which req'd removing the springs etc. due to literally no room to turn the adjustment wrench And guess what, it resulted in about a 1/2" too high, so I'll be adjusting that this afternoon prior to my alignment. The car drives fine but rubs up front due to the current lack of negative camber. IIRC, I set it up just around -2.0 so I'd have good wear, but that's not enough for this setup. Will require minimum -2.5 to -2.9* imo, we'll see. I set the 3-way damping to KW's "track" settings, and the car came alive last night. Overall I'm very happy with this setup for DD and tracking for this year. I still 100% intend on running a 9/5" wheel up front, next year. So stay tuned for that over winter, among a few other things (m235iR oil pump, aux radiators, brake duct work, weight trimming). Here's the turn of events from the install and initial fit (sorry for the pic quality, just an old iPhone atm): Ready to go on Here's the clearance for the coilover/tire with the 18x9 et42 and 255/35 RE71R (they run wider than most). A 245 would take 1-2mm away, and an 8mm spacer, another 2mm, which would be ideal for the 9" wheel IMO, or a 235/40.. When I go 9.5", I'll still most likely run 255's, but square. After I set the rear ride height dial in the alignment, today, I'll give the car a detail it's been waiting for, in/out and underneath. Until then, cheers

Here you go bud.
You will need following parts: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...20Racing&mg=11 01 Oil pump 1 11418011851 01 Suction pump 1 11417846385 02 Suction pipe 1 11417846384 02 Drive Shaft 1 11417848466 05 Cover lid (for RETURN line) 1 11418335879 01 Oil Pan 1 11137854463 You can buy a used oil pan from an M2 or M235iR if able to source, suction pump and oil pump from an M3/M4 also crosses over. You'll need the N55 cover lid for the return line that you can order from the dealer. That part is used on M235iR race car. All of those listed parts are exactly the same as M235/40iR cup (n55) engine, no other modifications are necessary. Happy "sucking"

Baseline alignment. Will tweak it once I've rolled my front fenders properly to allow a bit more clearance. Hardly rubs aside from full squat mid turn-on throttle, possible the inner/lower fender liner? Will have to take the wheels off and have a better look. Busy week at work, don't foresee much happening until the weeknd.
New rotors rings are a few weeks away (3-4) from Brembo USA, and pads. So will have some downtime to play with the alignment and suspension settings in preparation for the fall's track schedule. I will also have the car corner balanced between now and then, to avoid any further delays. After that, there's nothing more to do, except send it. PS - I tried to take as many random angles possible of the wheel fitment, as it seems not many have done the Front: et42 9.0" or Rear: et43 9.5" from Apex on the F22. It fits, PERFECTLY! A 255 would allow a bit more clearance out back and reduced camber (-1.8* to -2.0 vs -2.1* minimum imo), and 245 would net the same savings out front with a dial back to -2.8*. I think that will be the "future" DD tire spec (245/255), then 265 sq. on 9.5's for track will be the plan for next years second wheelset along with the oil pump upgrade and a slight diet plan. That's all for now

Are you gonna cut a slot into the tow hook cover, or are these special racing covers with the slot already cut into it?

I'm most likely going to order two unpainted blanks, slot them and then wrap gloss black to be used along with them. Something to work on over winter while I'm bored

Small project I can get on right now with the isolation in effect.. Car is in storage for another few weeks and moving to our new house where is can rest peacefully inside a garage again. I'll definitely be button'ing up a few loose ends. Gotta get the car plated in Ontario, so will need a safety cert. and then I can get it on the road "officially". Offices are shut down for a couple of weeks to help flatten this Covid-19 curve.
Also have some some maintenance planned once moved: Spark Plugs - Second set of 97506's, currents have about 30k kms of hard driving/ meth.. Brake Fluid Flush - 6 track days, time for fresh juice - Motul RBF660 Oil Change - Mahle Filter w/ LM top tec 5w30 Coolant expansion tank hose - because preventative maintenance pays Cabin air filter - Current is original Debadging the rear "m235i" logo and side skirt decals for a cleaner look. Full chassis/engine bay/interior detail, will then send it to my buddy for the exterior polish. Once the car is out and this lockdown is over I'll be adding a BM3 backend flash to my current JB4/meth setup. Been waiting a while, it's time now. The car can handle the increase in power. As it is I was able to fully stretch its legs at every track day, seeing some potential to shave a couple of seconds off on the straights. Also looking forward to more low/mid range which the flash tunes are good at providing. With the 6" race core, it's a bit laggy if I want to hold 3rd at 3k rpm through a turn, and feel the flash tune will help. Aside from all of this, I intend on eventually getting another pair of 18x9.5" et43's for the front to run a square tire setup. That was always my plan, but at least I have the wheels to test fit them, now. All I'll require is a smaller spacer (7.5mm-8mm) and I think it'll work. I've since had the fenders rolled/pulled front and rear. My local street class series which is fairly active only allows Trofeo R's, so if tha'ts what I'm left with, I'll run 265/35 since they run about the same as a 255/35 RE71R. Here's a couple of cell (i8 )pics from fall of last year.. Rainy day road trip to Toronto for the fender pull/roll Last track day of the year, perfect conditions! Also post fender pull/roll, check out the new clearance up front

What times are you turning there, and is that the track where you expect to pick up a couple of seconds after the BM3 upgrade?

The main benefit from the flash aside from power gains will be the midrange and delivery of the power. The JB4 kicks in a bit late, and you can tell compared to other N55's on BM3 that I've driven. Super stoked for this year!

Calabogie is in line with Mosport's DDT track. They'll be my go to's this year for sure. Shannonville is another cheap option but it's hard on the tires due to old concrete sections etc.. You ever head up this way? If so let me know! I'm alone out here in the F22 scene, especially at the tracks lol

I really like Mosport and think it's much more suited to our cars than is Calabogie. The fewer slow-speed turns the better for our F22s!

I'll join you bro! my cars not set up anywhere near as gnarly as yours but i plan to hit Cayuga race track this year (hopefully) with some buddies! Just getting my M235i set up now for the track so i can at least set a decent time :? lol I had a question man, how'd you like the 19s? I have 18inch BMW stock rims on Mich PSS's and although they're great i wanna go to PS4S's on some 19's. Why'd you switch to an 18 inch set up? Lets set something this year and get out there love the build!
