Actually both - I had the top down and wasn't paying attention as much as I should have been. Thought I was doing about 70/75 in a 65. Was doing 85 in a 55. Road I don't drive that goes from highway down to local with a few poorly marked reductions in limit. Guy was cool and I was apologetic and polite, so no serious ticket.

I installed the 3M Scotchgard clear bra on my hood and fenders. It all went well until I grabbed the wrong bottle for the last fender and sprayed the alcohol solution instead of the baby shampoo. It messed up the adhesive. I had to pull it off. I luckily bought insurance on the kit. I bought the second kit for 60% off. I will reapply it the correct way when the new kit arrives.

They're techs/mechanics that volunteer to help club members. You can also email Mike Miller, the Roundel Tech Tips columnist - he's usually very prompt with replies. The BMW CCA forums don't get a lot of traffic.

Some local dealers offer a parts discount for BMWCCA members. You still need to shop around, and will probably find the best prices online.

BMWCCA members also receive Roundel Magazine. I think it's a very high-quality car magazine - plus, it's all about BMWs.

Coded CarPlay into my entrynav NBT head unit! Until now this wasn't possible unless you had the NAV package already with the NBT Evo head unit. I upgraded to the 8.8" screen but you can see I still have the basic idrive controller and no NAV tile on the idrive screen

Huge shout out to Steve at codemybimmer for making this possible

Spent some quality time giving her the two-bucket hand wash she deserved after a 3 day trip across Canada.

$280 high quality, perfect fit axle back option. $180 for a Vibrant 10632 on Amazon and $100 for my shop to swap it in, utilizing the stock tips and valve.

Only have 100 miles on it, but it already sounds cleaner and and meaner than the stock muffler. The Fiesta ST like pops, snaps and crackles are now puffs, poofs and gurgles that sound much less embarrassing. I can also hear the engine a lot more and feel it in my seat and foot. The vibrant is the same width as the stock muffler and has the same diameter inlet and outlets. Only real difference was that the inlet is in the middle rather than offset to one side.

I'm also running a catless downpipe and all mods for MHD Stage 2+.

I had basically a similar clear bra applied on my car. Best money I've spent. Living in the U.S. South/West with deteriorating freeways/roads and sandy conditions at the beaches and deserts. I drove into a sandstorm, the windshield was pitted but the bra saved the paint.

Im running catless dp as well and was thinking of a muffler delete but this might be a better option. Do you have any sound clips?

I went to my old supervisors retirement party and parked far away beside a curb. When I left I had a brain fart and hit the curb with the back passenger wheel. It took a chunk out of the wheel. It made me sick.
I called Brian at Sun Motor Cars and he will have a new wheel for me on Friday.

Got an aftermarket rear spoiler installed. Took it to my friend shop since he has heat guns and other need it tools. The OEM spoiler when removed left the paint bubble up which he spend almost 30 minutes to buff it out. Looks like the paint was not cured when it was "glue" to the trunk

I discovered that the second recess is not meant to be used as a cup holder, but as a vase!

Had a weekend AutoX

Over the weekend I autocrossed the car with Reno SCCA. It was my 5th and 6th times this season but this one was at a new site with our regular site booked for the rodeo. Smaller site, but way a better surface and the course layout was fast so I did really well.

At the end of the first day I was told my times were fast enough to compete with the STX regulars so I officially moved up from the Novice class! I won the class over an RX8 on Saturday and was the only STX driver that showed for Sunday, so I'll count it!

I also got my magnetic numbers and class indicator from AutocrossDigits-dot-com and used them for the first time. Looks real slick and reminds me of a bit of GT Sport in style. A fellow racer who likes photography got a great roller shot.
