Update: sticking with the M2C. I think I'd regret it if I passed it up

The HP gap with the M240i / M2C is larger now than the M240i/M2, and even then, it can be hard to rationally "justify" an M2C. Really depends on the type of driver you are. If there's a tune that unlocks the M2C's additional power to the M4 level, that helps more if you're going that route.
Having driven the M240i and the M2 but not the M2C, the biggest difference I noticed was simply the extra degree of suspension stiffness and far better handling. It definitely felt a solid notch above, plus the added thrust and sound was real. Being a softie now, I'd take the M240i any day for a daily driver though. You also have to determine how much of a hit the extra 16K is to you - even if it isn't, 16K can pay for a whole lot of fun rentals and add more variety when you're after that hardcore performance. The main ways you can justify this is by tracking the M2C a nontrivial amount or simply not being fazed by the extra harshness. Anyhow, congrats on picking the M2C. Always gives me a smile when I see a true M2 wandering around or at the pump. |
