I have to agree.

The errors he is making, are typical of that of a rookie in his first year of F1. Look at how clever Lando raced, never put a foot wrong, and even held of Kimi.

Ooh, perhaps they were near the bottom of the top tier!
He's the golden boy, who was placed into the golden seat. He never scored a point as a stand-in test driver for a 2nd-rate team. He never won a race with a 3rd-tier Torro Rosso.

It's a spectator sport: enjoy it.

They’re all Golden Boys at top-tier teams and not all succeed....just look at history; does anyone remember the #2 to Ferrari’s Gilles Villeneuve?? Or Benneton’s #2 to Schuey?? Even if one can remember, it doesn’t matter; #1 drivers are always Golden Boys; having two #1’s is the ultimate goal....let them compete at an equal driver level and equal machinery level.

Seems Leclerc ignored team orders when he overtook Vettel.

I like him even more now.

When you think about VET's unforced error when he spun at his home GP last yr....it just reveals yet another example of his total acumen which lacks the balance, composure and intelligence as compared to other top-tier pilots.

I still believe his 4 back-to-back WDC's were a fate of being in the right place at the right time....as someone mentioned previously, the Adrian Newey designed RBR during that time significantly out-performed the competition; remember they (I believe) were the first team with "blown-exhaust" that utilized engine exhaust to create additional downforce; can't recall, but wasn't this banned by the FIA F1 Sporting Regulations the next yr? It (blown exhaust) was a clear competitive advantage.

Just found this and edited it into this thread:

Dude, you can't have it both ways. The dominance of the Mercedes package far exceeds that of the Red Bull or Ferrari eras.

You guys are like climate-change deniers. If it's cold outside, then there's no global warming. And if Vettel is not on the winning team, he was never good.

What I don't understand is this: you obviously hate the guy; OK that's fine. What he did in the past is done, and what he's doing now doesn't really affect anyone, right? Why can't you just be a fan of Hamilton (or whoever) without shitting on another driver?

It seems like Vettel just can't handle the power output of the turbo V6 cars.

That was a great race. Vettel's front wing exploding was hilarious. I haven't seen anything about how it failed yet. It doesn't look like a lot of material is there attaching it to the nose.

LEC was lucky the SC came out otherwise he would have finished 4th.

That was certainly a more interesting race than Melbourne. I’m all for tracks that have areas and corners where there is more room than a one car width racing line.

What name did I call anyone?

VET's front wing failure was caused by his left-rear tire delaminating. The subsequent vibrations caused the front wing to break. Look at online footage of the incident - it's quite evident from front-on.

I saw the wing vibrate and fail on the straight. The rear tire caused the front wing failure? Oh the vibration from the failed tire shook the hell out of the wing. What bad luck!

I think he can. What he can't though, is accept the fact that someone has overtaken him, and deal with it in a calm calculated way.

You could clearly see he spun the car when Lewis was already way past him. He should just have accepted the fact that he wasn't quick enough, end got on with the race.

I would have to agree. In the RB days, he was used to being in front and staying in front. He knows how to fight through the field but he does indeed spaz when someone passes him.....especially Lewis.

Nobody can deny that Vettel is a world champion. He's under massive pressure. His mistakes are many I'll admit to that, but he can't be a world champion if he didn't push every race and every corner. Are you going to convince me that this idiot driver who always makes mistakes miraculously didn't make mistakes during his 4 years as champion? He's do stupid he didn't make mistakes when he was young but he's making mistakes now? Some of you never watch Schumacher drive. Schumacher's car was more dominant than any car in the v6/hybrid and he made many mistakes! Hamilton is a better driver than Vettel, no doubt, but Vettel is world champion material and if he minimized his mistakes he can definitely get his fifth!
