2020 F22?
I've been searching the forum for some info on the 2020 F22. I've seen that the MY19 F22 EOP is Feb 2019. Very early, presumably to accommodate the Leipzig plant expansion?
I've also noted that the follow-on G42 is projected for a Aug 21 start of production in Mexico. That leaves a pretty big gap, hopefully to be filled with the 2020 F22...but I haven't found any info. Can anyone point me to some intel on the 2020 model (such as production start, any changes...)? If the predictions are correct, the 2020 F22 might be the last opportunity for those of us in North America to buy a German 2 Series before the MexiBimmers replace them. |

I can’t help, but I laughed at MexiBimmers!

Mexibimmers are no odder than Gritsbimmers. The largest BMW factory in the world is in Spartanburg, South Carolina. No negative effect on sales, AFAIK.
Or do you have some problem with Mexicans refusing to build that wall? |

I won't speculate as to why, but a contingent of Americans are averse to purchasing cars assembled in Mexico. That's certainly not a new phenomenon.

Sadly, you are correct, and such anxieties, based on data, are totally without merit. Quality data for many Mexican plants is excellent, as I learned when managing more than one vehicle program over my career with another vehicle manufacturer, with some plants in Mexico.

That being said, however, one of my cars is an American built Honda with over 300K miles with zero quality related issues over it's life. Stuff wears out certainly, but the thing's bulletproof otherwise. There is more passion associated with purchasing a BMW than a Honda, and my emotional side would prefer my German car to be made in Germany. No data to support my position, but I'm absolutely OK with that! |

Really though, the essence of my original post is to see if anyone has info on the plan for MY 2020. I'm getting nervous that it's almost January, and I'm waiting on a build number. Dealer said that there were 7 allocations in the US for December?!

That is definitely a program to watch for the first year before jumping in. If some of those are stable/carryover, the risk is reduced. But, any of these "system" potential quality spills are independent of being within or between countries. The G20 launch may be one to watch for a while to let them get some cars built at volume throughput first, but that would be true for any manufacturer in any location.

Ordered my 19' 240i on 12/1 and had a production number by 12/8. Not sure how many allocations were/are available but my dealer didn't have any trouble getting one.

I believe you misunderstood what I originally posted. The EOP for MY19 is Feb 2019. I have confirmed that several times through multiple individuals and venues. What info I'm looking for is MY20 SOP. Based on the information you provided above, I can infer that there will be an MY20 under the current configuration, but the MY20 SOP has apparently not leaked as of yet.

2019 M240i xDrive Coupe Estoril Blue Oyster Dakota Leather Aluminum/Estoril Matte trim Bi-Color wheels with staggered summer tires Premium Pkg Harman Kardon Spartanburg PCD delivery Considering tagging a 1 Day M School on to the end of the PCD if I could make that work. I'm wondering if the PCD will be enough driving to satisfy me. Alternative would be a HPDE with BMWCCA after I've had mine for a bit. |

I've done a day school at PDC and it was a blast. I think PDC delivery is 1/2 day...not 100% sure. I can only imagine how much fun the 1 day M school is. I say go for it. It's only going to help you as a driver.
