F22 is finally home!
*updated pics of build progress below*
Performance Center Delivery in Greer, SC was on 1/3/2018. Left that afternoon about 1:30pm EST and drove it straight home to NW Indiana. I got home around midnight CST that same day... tired, but with a big on my face nonetheless. The roads were somehow dry the entire way even with light snow falling at one point, and I managed to drive so defensively and evasively from other traffic that I literally had a perfectly clear windshield by the time I got home without even using my wipers once! I was concerned about the super cold temps and the Michelin PSS tires, but that proved to not be an issue. No sidewall cracks and no issues with traction. I probably kept enough heat in them from when I left Greer (36 degrees F) to when I got home (11 degrees). Didn't make any stops besides the 2 rather quick fuel/meal pitstops... Anyhow, I present my RWD 6-speed m240i in Melbourne Red over Black Dakota Leather: Our beagle, Apollo, was apparently all too eager for Dad to bring home his new ride... he decided to shred up yet another one of his "chew proof" beds. Note the look on his face.. like he doesn't give a...

Since I already know the question will be asked, yes I do have some minor mods planned. Already ordered the following and hoping to install next week:
- M Performance Alcantara steering wheel - M Perf. carbon shifter - M Perf. carbon handbrake lever - M Perf. black rocker panel The following are planned for later down the road: - Dedicated track day wheels - M Perf. full alcantara/carbon dash kit - M Perf. carbon fiber engine cover (wish I sprung for it during this past Black Friday sale!) And if I get really brave one day: - Recaro Sportster CS seats re-upholstered to Alcantara + matching Dakota leather w/ Melbourne Red painted seat backs, very similar to these by IND (but without the red stitching): Think that's about it... trying not to sway from BMW/OEM stuff. I can justify the Recaro seats since BMW used to offer these exact seats as BMW Performance seats.

Red, huh? Did you get any sideways glances from cops, on the way home?

- Ferrari - new Corvette Grand Sport - P-car (sometimes even Guards red is annoying if car isn't spec'd well) - pretty much any BMW since they somehow always manage to make red look good (Hellrot e36, Imola e46 come to mind) - strangely enough, Volvo wagons..or any Euro estate car like A4 Avant, etc. And the cops were probably busy enough just trying to help people out there and trying to stay warm! I don't think they were concerned with me since I was driving at or near enough to the speed limit.

IND painted mirror caps installed. Paint quality exceeded my expectations! Honestly flawless and looks 100% factory match down to the size and consistency of the metal flake in the paint. Thank you, IND, for a great mirror cap solution!

M Performance interior teaser. Nevermind the hacked up shifter knob. Still working on a solution to get the damn thing removed!

I tried removing the gate pattern graphic in hopes I'd find a way to release the internal clip that I believe is holding this thing in like Excalibur's sword!
...since I already ruined the thing, I figured I would just cut the boot with a utility knife so I can drive it without having to clip the boot back in temporarily.

Just arrived today! BBS CH-R Bright Silver w/ polished lip (9x19et44 rear + 8x19et40 front).
Still doing tire research and deciding whether these will be my street or track wheels. As of now, I'm thinking I will make them my street wheels due to tire cost of tracking 19s. If I can sell the OEM 719M wheels, I might go ahead and get another set of these same BBS CH-R, but 18" and black w/ polished lip for dedicated track use.

Take a look at this repair info from the TIS manual. It may be of use in getting the shifter out. Looks great..and ...I like your color-matched exterior mirrors! Never could understand the contrasting silver painted M240 mirror covers.

Unfortunately for the rest of you, they don't over glacier silver for the body any longer, so you'll have to find another solution.

Thanks all for the kind words!
I googled this text string and went to this website. Seems like malware paradise... anyone go to this site and use it as a resource? Don't want to start clicking things and downloading unless the site has a good rep.

Update:
Interior is complete. I had a busy few weeks and never got around to making another attempt at the gear selector knob until today. It turns out I had the strength to do it all along, but not the grip! Had the idea to wear a pair of rubberized mover's gloves, which gave me so much more grip when pulling upwards. Had it in 2nd gear, gave it a really good tug, and it popped right off! Also, I now have a set of Michelin PS4S tires sitting next to the BBS wheel boxes. Just waiting on some TPMS sensors to arrive from Europe before I can take everything to a wheel shop for mounting and balancing. Now that the car is coming together, I think it's about time for a proper outdoor photoshoot. This winter weather is somehow still hanging around, so maybe in a few more weeks? Stay tuned!

Did you get a chance to shoot some more pics? Would love to see those silver CH-R's on her. I've got some 18" titanium CH-R's on order, was on the fence with the silver ones.

I have not, unfortunately. Still waiting for a new floor jack to arrive so that I can use the Jackpoint jack stands I picked up last month. They are a great product, but finding a jack that will work with them is next to impossible. I finally caved and went with the custom Brunnhoelzl jack through Jackpoint. Jackpoint has them made in group batches to work well with their jack stands. I should have the new jack within the next week and will attempt to fit the new wheels ASAP.
