A year and a half later, still Goldilocks
I'm 19 months into a 39 month lease and because I went several thousand miles over my annual miles allowed in the first year, I've been playing catch-up and driving my m235 A LOT less this summer. Now that I'm finally caught up and am driving the car more regularly, I'm reminded how much I like this car.
It really is goldilocks - it's just right. I love the way the seat fits me, the ride is just compliant enough in comfort and just firm enough in sport. It gets good mileage when I cruise and is quick enough for me whenever I've asked it. I think a lot about what to get next and the plan has always been ED on a Sakhir M3 next, but I don't know. Yeah, I'd really like to have MOAR but I'm really wondering if more is what I want. I'm just so damn satisfied with my m235. When I picked this car I drove a bunch of cars. Various 3's & 4's as well as a short hop in an 84K loaded up M3. But it wasn't until I drove the m235 that it all seemed to click into place. I looked at the CA riding shotgun and said, "That's what I was looking for," and that was that. And right now, I'm as content with the car as I've ever been. Thanks for listening. I just wanted to share that thought with somebody. My wife's sick of hearing it |

Maybe you should just give in and put as many miles on it as you can, and buy it when the lease ends. Must be hell to have to hold back driving it, even if you did put the miles on already.

I hate leasing. I prefer to buy and not be constricted by the stupid ass mileage allowance.

I'd love an M2 for the looks but otherwise the M235i is more car than you need for most street situations.

But the M2 doesn't even have M Mirrors or a Carbon Roof...
I decided to lease as well...and I'm already 3k miles over my limit in my first year lol I'm just at the point that I'd either stroke a check, do the pull ahead program or do both LOL |

As much as I like the car, I'm not gonna marry it. But if you ask me today what's next, I might just say an m240. We'll see. |

The only things I wish my car had at this point are solid naturally aspirated induction and exhaust sounds. The 235 sounds nice but NA sounds better. Everything else though is just stellar.

Great review. Thanks for sharing. I just bought an F30 and am looking for a used 2 series for my wife to replace our 2010 e90. We need good gas mileage since her work is about an hour away..so we are thinking 228 in a manual so I can enjoy the coupe on the weekends and let the F30 be the family car. I love the size of the 2 as the 3 and 4 series have gotten larger and larger.

As far as I'm concerned, for the street, the M235i is crazy fast.
