Installed AFE Intake Scoop
Just finished installing AFE Dynamic Intake Scoop on my M235i. It's the same one from the 335i, just no plug to mount, it just wedges in there and is supposed to direct more cold air from front to the intake. Install was easy as I've already swapped to black grills so I knew the procedure, 5-10 minute install.
Took off AFE sticker and unless you really looked, you'd never know it was there. But, essentially the air vent sits sideways to the oncoming air, I'm guessing to prevent extra debris from getting sucked into the filter and needing to replace more often. But, the scoop should in fact catch the oncoming air and route it better to the intake tube. Will it help? Doubt much difference, but hopefully better throttle response, I'll report back tomorrow, but for $49 doing it was a worth a shot and can't hurt.

Been running AFE scoop on my jb4 car for quite sometime. When combined with Afe dry drop in filter my experience of it is that it does help with throttle response and provides small benefit in keeping IATs in check.
As you say, easy Cheap DIY. Picture of AFE ram air scope fitted on an M235i below, taken from thread linked below http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=266 YT video below shows benefit of any form of air scoop to channel air towards the intake:-

My pick looks exactly like the black one posted above by beepee.
OK, it's 90 out today, but after the drive to work both in comfort and sport mode, I will say it appears to have better throttle response particularly in comfort mode on the highway. Also, after sitting at a redlight for a few minutes and punching it in sport mode, it just took off without any bog or hesitation, which sometimes I get in hot weather idling for too long. Not a great review, and can't verify with such limited data yet, but so far so good and like others and I have said for under $50 and 10 minutes, why not? I also have a dry drop in filter, Fabspeed DP and AA8 tune. I may take it out in the winter as it may capture snow, we'll see.

Thinking about picking one of these up as it's a very inexpensive mod. Had a pair on my E60 made by RPI. Was hard to tell of any performance improvements, but seems like it would help at highway speeds (50+ mph).

Don't think forum allows links to where to buy things. But, just do a google search for AFE magnum force scoop BMW 335 and then hit the shopping tab and lots will pop up for $49.
I find the throttle response to be improved nicely after a couple days of driving.

Kdog - thanks for being the guinea pig for all of us & for the post!! I was thinking about getting this scoop once I got the AFE intake, but wasn't sure it would fit.

And I wish I could take credit for being the first, but I found some other thread where 1 guy did it and figured I'd follow suit. I think you'll be happy with it.

I bought mine direct from AFE. Free shipping & $49 (but my order was over $100 because I bought a second air filter for my AFE intake). 2 other places I saw it for $49 charged $15 S&H. And no way it costs $15 to ship this thing anywhere. Fits in a small box, doesn't even weigh a pound.
