BMS Stage 1 OR DINANTRONICS Sport?
I've read that some people with auto trans are getting low end lag with the BMS stage 1, such as from standstill to WOT. In addition, some jerkyness while shifting. I would not enjoy noticing either of these two things. Does the Dinan tune avoid those two issues? If so, I would prefer less power over the lag and jerkyness in shifting. What we know: BMS Stage 1 provides up to +50hp & +65TQ Dinantronics provides up to +30hp & +40TQ Thanks in advance for the help, guys! |

What you noted and I noticed, you do get used to them.. it just turns into how the car drives but I 100% love that I upgraded to the JB4 since the driveability got so much better (Like stock). Since you have an auto I think a little bit of this would be covered up. |

There should be some reviews of the Dinantronics Sport soon and over on the f30 forums there is a user that is going to be back-to-back testing with the BMS Stage 1 but on an N20 application.
But I think you'll have the same issue with both. They are just adding constant boost. Dinantronics by default runs at it's Sport+ which is +3psi and maxes out at +4psi with Race mode but that sounds like it is really only good for race and not DD. The main advantage of the Dinantronics Sport is the bluetooth connectivity and ability to change settings on the fly. Heck maybe you find running 2 or 3 psi additional boost just runs better. The second advantage is that it works across many models which means it should be easier to resell when you're done with the car or possibly transfer to a new car, we don't know if the N55 version will work with B58 or if they are even bringing B58 support. However I think you can adjust boost on the BMS Stage 1 up to +4.5psi, from what I understand it requires an additional data cable and software on a computer. I really think I should just go with the Jb4 over all. Just seems like a better tune all around even if I'm not doing any other mods.

JB4 goes off of RPM and adjusts boost from there... and also based on throttle. So it basically runs like stock until you give it the juice with the pedal and the JB4 tells it to turn the boost up. I've been getting better MPG because of it |
