...And she's out for 5 weeks!
Last week, someone decided a stop sign wasn't worth his time, and his Prius ended up stopping... in the quarter panel of my until then pristine 235 instead, with my daughter sitting in it mind you! Luckily, the collision happened a very low speed and both my wife, who was driving at the time, and my daughter were shaken, but completely safe. I have to say, the gentleman, who was driving said Prius, was very apologetic, and accepted total responsibility. Imagine my surprise when I came home that night :
But here I am, as of yesterday, without my beloved steed, as I dropped her off to the body shop, and I was told that the entire passenger quarter panel would have to be replaced, and that it would take 5-6 weeks!!! It's gonna be a long, long time! |

Sucks. The takeaways are your wife and daughter are fine. Better they take their time and do to job right. Make them give you a decent rental at least.

Sucks man but could have been worse. 5 weeks seems long...but as long as it's done right - you should be fine!
Make sure to fight for any potential depreciation due to the accident if you purchased this car. |

I guess your daughter was pretty shook up but most important that no-one was hurt.
That panel is a big one; from memory it goes right to the back of the car. Five weeks is a long time but the panel may not be a stock item: it might be more concerning if the body shop had said that they could do the job in less time! |

I feel your pain. Been waiting 2 weeks for passenger door with no known end in sight. The only ones in USA are stuck in customs in Memphis I am told.
What is your rental. They gave me a Chevy Cruze ... Ugh |

Sucks
At least it wasn't a parked incident where the other driver flees the scene leaving you high and dry. Worst feeling ever...

Sorry to hear that and I'm glad your family is fine.
That's how I lost my 2009 135 (I almost had my Dinan badge), some douche weasel ran a red and took out the front right side that totaled the car. Luckily, my wife who was driving was OK.

Actually, my wife said that the other gentleman was very nice and apologetic. he accepted full responsibility right then.
Robm129, I got a call from the repair center yesterday, and the total cost of repair is a little over 10.5K. quarter panel, and the wheel need to be replaced. I got a Hyundai Sonata. |
