Agreed to have a local detailer wash, clay, buff and apply ceramic sealant. Lots of bird poo and tree sap around here and I'd like to protect the paint against those that.
Should make her look purdy too! |

Plasti-dipped my emblems. 5 coats of black and 4 coats of glossifier. Almost messed up the 2. i think it'll probably peel when I wash it. This is pretty good though considering that my first attempt peeled off when I removed the tape lol.
It's a subtle change and temporary for now. i mainly just wanted something to do and I wanted to confirm that I do eventually want to buy the IND painted emblems. I do lol.

Today the weather and my free time finally aligned to let me do all the surface paint prep for applying Kamikazi Miyabi paint sealant tomorrow. Paint hit with IronX, a nanoskin Fine pad (and traditional clay where it couldn't reach), Rupes yellow pads with Sonax perfect finish, and then again with Rupes white pads with Rupes Diamond Ultra fine. Being it's been on the road 3 months, and over 2k miles, there were a couple of spots/scratches that needed a bit more correction. But blue pads and Scholl S3 took care of those easily before the above correction and polishing steps.
I've been fascinated to check out these new glass coatings and see how they perform. They're most commonly used on higher end cars that are rarely driven. I've been wanting to see how it holds up to use 2-4 times a week, and the rain/contamination a car driven normally in Seattle's weather. (I walk to work, so drive less then most) Pics and a report on results after it's all done.

Did you remove the #'s to do it? I'm guessing yes.

After ordering it in January, FINALLY driving it home..
It was raining like crazy and let me be the sixty fifth person to tell you that the new tires with their shipping coating are SLICK as a stripper pole.... Nothing like taking delivery of a new BMW and feeling the tires slide constantly.. Makes for a interesting 90 mile drive home.. Only got one picture before it started pouring again.. Absolutely amazing car.. Truly worth the wait.. |

Congratulations on the new 2, I feel your pain I had to drive mine back from the shipping company yard (truck broke down) just as it was starting to snow and the roads were really cold, it scared me a little when I hydroplaned pretty severely after getting behind the wheel at 30 degrees, with snow starting... and water on the road... at night

I was overly ambitious in trying to find new spots to take photos
