I have it on my MT 228, with no other suspension mods. I do love it. I wish the car came from the factory with it. The issue I think you're experiencing comes down to the software with the dampers. The upgrade stiffens the ride up, eliminates almost all body roll (I think you'd have to be AutoXing to see body roll) but more importantly squashes the extra rebound in both sport and comfort. (I heard they change ECO to a lesser degree) The ride is firm and Very planted/flat yet still comfortable. The car is more neutral now and tends to oversteer much easier due to the weight shifting less. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who bought this car to be driven. That's good to read. Have you heard the HK system in the F30 3 series? Power difference is almost double and that's significant. I had the HK in my 135i and it was ok but still not very good for the added $900. The HK upgrade in my 335i Msport is a much better system than the HK in my 135i. Comparatively a much better deal. The HK in the 135i should have only been about a $350-400 upgrade because the $875 for the HK in the 335i is a drastic difference. I hope the HK in the M235i I'm ordering is good because I'll feel quite ripped off having to pay the same amount for it as the system in my 335i. Just from spec's alone the HK in the 2 series should NOT cost that much. |

The HK in the 2 won't be as good as your 335. To me it was worth it. Because even if the HK in the 2 isn't a great deal ($850, although I paid $500) trying to live with a MUCH worse standard hifi system was not an option for me. I needed something decent. And I personally think it's more than decent. I do agree the upgrade should only be $500 tops. |

I seem to remember this car rocking back and forth deal at the drive-in movies back in the '60's.

This bothers me quite a bit on my MT M235i. I think this car needs stiffer engine/trans mounts...now that i've gotten used to the car it feels mushy and soft. I think my old E36 with fresh bushings and mounts was better..

glad I found this post
I actually thought something was wrong with my M235i (6MT). It definitely rocks back and forth at a stoplight.
My E46 M3 did not do it. Maybe I should give the Dinan Shockware a try ?

I haven't experienced this "rocking" myself, but I can attest that the MT cars definitely need some higher durometer engine/tranny mounts. Nothing drastic, maybe 20-30% stiffer.

Yea, First world problems but the "rocking" is a little surprising. I need to do a test in sport mode to see if it reduces it. Overall I love the car. I've noticed during 0-60 functional testing the rear end moves a bit (non-LSD car here). Trying to be a bit more carful by not mashing the throttle.

My 2015 228i with the M Sport brakes will rock when I stop due to the brake pads grabbing so hard. It has taken me five months to get smooth and if I am not paying attention each full stop it will grab at the very end and rock the car. It has to be the pads/brakes because I do not have this issue with my 2013 C300. Same driver, same left foot braking but two very different results.

Are we talking about that settling when you stop in this car? I've noticed it too, the only part that bothers me is when you park on a slope, pull the hand brake while your foot is still on the brake, shut the engine off, release the brake and the car seems to roll down the slope a little. Feels really odd, almost like I was driving an automatic and put it in park on a slope without pulling the hand brake. That's what we're talking about right?

Hmm... So 6AT cars also suffer from this? I was sure it was an AT8 thing, as the tranny is the only thing in common between my current M235 and previous F10 528xi, which behave the same (regular brakes)...
