Dinan stage 3 with xdrive?

Hello. Has anyone tried this combo? Traction is so limited with these cars so with a power tune, I really think the xdrive would come in handy. I'm trying to decide on my next performance car & would love to hear some experiences. I had a 2010 135i & remember how difficult hooking up was with the skinny rear tires. I'm also really not interested in install/remove for service game with other tunes. Thanks!

Well I've had both a tuned 135i and now a tuned M235 w/Xdrive. You are correct the 135i tuned was tough to launch. The Xdrive and stage 3 I'm sure would be a great combo. I'd imagine it would hopefully have a little more power than my AA8 tune, but at least comparable, so I would say this setup would produce good results and avoid the install/uninstall issues you're talking about. You should be 0-60 4 flat or slightly better if that's what you're after.

Great! Thanks for the response! Now I just have to go drive the 235i, c63 & the m3/m4. Or I could roll the dice and order an M2...

First, it may be tough to find an AWD M235 down in Florida. Second if you drive a C63 or M3/M4 I'm guessing the M235 will feel a bit lacking in stock form. Competitors are more the Audi S3 or CLA45 amg, as the C63 and M4 are in a different league of performance and are probably $20-30k more $$.

You wont get the power of the AMG out of the m235 unless you do serious work. Intercooler, catless dp's, stage 2 turbos, fuel upgrade and tune.

Im on Dinan stage 2 now and a c63 AMG walked on me from 80 - 120 mph by 4 car lengths. The m2 would net same results as stock is a little bit lower whp than my car.

After driving this weekend with a Enzo tuned m235xi with Pure stage 2 turbo's, I think it's possible to get more power, but its going to to cost you.

Plus a 4 door luxury AMG vs. a small nimble sporty BMW is like comparing apples and tow trucks.

You should be comparing the m3/m4 vs your choices.

Im going stage 3 in a few weeks and can let you know how it is, but like most of us with Dinan, we are a little disappointed in the returns for the cost.

Thanks for sharing. Traction is a big part of the equation. Big power cars require a much more patient foot than mine. I'm definitely shopping cars with different personalities. If I can get a car that's just as/almost as fun as the amg/m cars and save $10-20k(definitely looking at pre-owned too) then that's something I'd be open too. Keep me updated on the stage 3. Thanks again.

Get an e90 m3 (4door) or e92 (2 door m3) used with decent milage.

You wont be disappointed, it hold its value, and you'll be in the "m" club.

I can tell you from experience...I had the AMD 55.

The benz is a luxury car that is sporty... it's heavy.
The BMW is a sports car with some luxury, its a drivers car, you can feel the road.

It's really up to what you your taste is. Both are german quality.

I'd stay away from audi's... they are always in the shop. But again thats just my opinion.

Another car not on your list to check out is the Ftype jag. You can get a 6 or an 8 cyl super charge. I see the v6 going for around 60k, which is same price you can get a used AMG Black series for.

Supposedly the AMG guys tweaked the new c class for more performance & that interior is sick! It has the same engine as the GT, TT V8. I guess I'll find out on Saturday. My co either has an older M3, says the repair bills are ridiculous so I'm hoping for a few years of warranty. I bought the old body style G Infiniti and I'm regretting it so I think I'd like one of the newer body styles. Hmmm... I'll definitely have to check out the jag tho.
