M235i Automatic Tuning
Dear all,
I own a Bmw M235i. It has 15.000km on it, it's my daily and I'm looking for a good reliable tune. And don't know if I want to go for stage 1 or stage 2. The most eye catching to me is the Manhart stage 1 or 2. Can someone with experience share their thoughts or maybe some videos or pictures. P.S. If you are adding catless downpipes now or in the future, skip stage 1 and get stage 2.
If you are keeping you stock downpipes, get stage 1. Why is Manhart the most eye catching? JB4 has more features, more flexibility, more room for upgrade than Manhart . More importantly it has more real world results.

Because I'm from Europe and the only way I would accept to tune my daily driver is to tune it at the place that I would buy the parts. Idk why, but that's how I think it's the safest way. Plus, it gives me a reason to drive to Germany and visit Nurburgring as well... Are there any draw backs if I go for a catless system? Of the piggyback systems I think only the JB4 can remove the codes from a catless DP. You get the same performance in a 200 cell sportcat and a decat I would say so if you don't want a JB4 or a flash tune I suggest you go sportcat

Keep in mind that there is no guarantee sport cats wont fail after a certain time period.

Main point against a flash is that they are not necessarily "removable." but the advantages of a flash are immediately experienced once driven. power delivery is better, throttle response is better...etc. I cant see myself going back to piggyback. really comes down to what you are looking for/want in a tuning solution. smoother power delivery Faster throttle response Piggy: Multiple maps read / delete codes datalogging boost by rpm boost by gear ability to go back to stock power within seconds Ability to completely remove it before dealership visit (with flash you need to take the ECU back to tuner) Much cheaper than flash
