Most likely will make the change to the LCI M2 in a few years time, not quite there financially at the moment. Hopefully the prices come down a bit when I'm ready to purchase

M3 base price before ORC is 140k and M4 150k. That's before LCT as well... So M3/M4 you're looking at $160k-$170k. OBVIOUSLY this is also before discounts, which applies to M2 as well. Ps. 1M cost $120k-$130k driveaway brand new.

Guarantee you will get a bigger discount on an M3 or 4. An M3 base MY16 car is loaded with most of. The kit you could want, full leather, hud, LED headlights circa $15k of options in the new base price. You will get a new M3 for $140k drive away easy. Re the 1M, clearly you never bought one new, they were $99,900 + option and on roads. Most were circa $112 to $118 drive away, metalic paint being the most expensive of the 4-5 options that were available. |

True story, M3's are being offered at $140k drive away. I got offered that after a less than inspiring M235i test drive.

then they saw you coming
m3/m4 are a very attractive option, so much faster then a 1M, actually crazy fast, they have full leather dash with deviated stitching and carbon inserts, cameras all over the thing, carbon roof, i could go on i agree with Alpine |

Depends on what state you're in and when you are buying. For example QLD is $2.4k cheaper than Victoria. Also currently there are factory bonuses on 3 series so it reduces the price of the car. If you order a car now the dealer will not be able to factor that bonus into account as they wont know what will be offered in 3 months time when the car turns up. The reason why BMW has bonuses is because they are so far down Merc this year that they are trying to win a bit more market share. With the recent price reduction and everything else, this will not continue into the future. So if you want a M3, buy one now that is on the floor. MY16 LCI cars have started turning up and there are some available.

haha you do seem very confident of your views den i'm not the first 100 delivered but still early enuff. if you know the 1M supply back then and others like WAY Alpine etc would attest, dealers didn't have to give any discount nor had any difficulty selling all cars. The last Trivett VO sat on the floor for a while because they were asking for $130+ and I know the guy who finally bought it. my $105k was a special price but was still pretty on the mark for most people who paid $110ish. In case you haven't been a 1Addict regular, a good number of 1M owners paid less than $110k but then claimed otherwise when they were selling their cars. I have better than good memory

i don't think so. irrespective of the variations in pricing, Oz 1M owners all had good deals relative to M3 pricing back then. no one should complain. would have been better deal if resale pricing followed US trending!
compared to 1M/M3 pricing, M2/M3/M4 relative pricing may see M3/M4 having the better deal this time. time would tell |

Apart from M2/M3/M4 relative pricing, I see a lot more competition in this segment compared with the 1M release. Mercedes didn't have a A45 AMG, and Audi didn't release the previous RS3 generation to Australia. The closest thing back then was the TTRS. Competition will force BMW to make deals across the board. Never thought I could get a M235i for cheaper than a A45... So yea lol
