Not quite sure I agree with you. If I'm considering fitting Pure Stage 2 soon, there are plenty of mods to do before that, to make sure the car is ready for the upgrade.

Hey guys I'm coming from the 5 series land. Question about the DV+. I recently received a GSR tune and have seen as much as 20PSI in some runs. When going WOT I hear the vent to atmosphere sound from my OEM DV a little too early in the RPM band like 4k. It sometimes vents several times in the middle of one gear. I'm attributing it to a leaky DV. I hear the purge and its accompanied by a slight RPM drop and then builds back up. Has anyone experienced something like that and by upgrading to the DV+ fixed that problem?

I should also state that if I don't mash the pedal (0-WOT) and step on the throttle in a quick and steady curve it holds boost.

I am not throwing codes so I strongly believe it's just a weak DV and the ECU thinks everything is normal.

535i, GSR stage 1, 6MT.

I installed GFB DV+ on my M235i one week after HJS EU6 catted downpipe installation.

Very happy with it.

On-Off-On is now stellar. Throttle response was way better with HJS downpipe install and it's definitively sharper with DV+.

No CEL, no soft error, no odd motor behaviour.

Very nice product.

Concerning install, I removed stock DV only from underside of car. All I had to remove was the 3x water pump bolts on its holder.

Please take care that those water pump aluminum bolts must be replaced and correctly tightened (10Nm + 90° angle).

Hello everyone,
I own a M235i 2015 and it's equip with the Dinan Stage II, Dinan Cold Air Intake, Dinan highflow exhaust, Go Fast Bits Diverter Valve + and just had the Fabspeed HighFlow Downpipe. My question is, two days after I got the downpipe install at my BMW dealer, the check engine light turn on ! I was under the impression that these kind of Downpipe were design to not turn any lights on ! Is it the downpipe or the DV+ that turn it on ? Because I got them install at the same time.

Thanks.

What happened and how? Any difference in power when it happened ?

M-Terkait :

Well like I said, nothing really happen. The light just turned on and that's it ! Still pull like crazy in any situation, a beast ! I'm just wondering why it came on and what is the cause, the downpipe or the DV+ ?! I will probably buy the Dinan Autolink AL319 Scan Tool to find out where it come from.

Depends if you put the DV+ spring or the OEM spring.

Then that's your CEL. the GFB page has a disclosure about using the stronger spring. Now you just need an elm327 wifi obdii and app of choice to clear codes.

You have to install springs GFB is supplying with its DV+ and not OEM ones.

Only bigger spring under brass piston is optional and may be responsible for a soft error or CEL.

I've both springs installed on my car with no CEL nor soft error issue...

Best would be first to read what error code triggered the CEL before incrimining DV+...

i did dv+ on my rwd m235i. it was a painful install so be prepared to spend a lot of time banging knuckles or remove a lot of crap to make room lol

that said, it's holding boost wonderfully

So does one actually need this part, running a stock turbo at 19 psi or under?

Yeah, from what I gather it's not an easy upgrade. I am going to see if I can have it put in when I take my car in for service. I did find a site that still sells them for the M235i which I am sure is same as for the other F22 / n55. Thanks for the input and advice though guys!

I replaced mine, as my stock dv diaphragm tore at 15psi of boost. It also gave me slightly better throttle response. One thing I have noticed it quieter then stock maybe that just me.

The version that fits the M235i fits 335i 435i N55 also.

Went FBO JB4 and got a P00BD that won’t go away after checking all the connections..

What are the chances it’s my stock DV tearing?

I would say slim, but it's possible. I still have the stock DV with stage 2 bm3. I am hoping to upgrade soon as I am worried that it will fail since the car is pushing much more boost. Mine only has about 21k miles on it so far though. It may be something that fails more once you get more miles on it.. as it wears out and maybe deteriorates some.

Mileage will vary on when stock DV will wear or being to slowly leak but a good rule of thumb is anything over 50K miles, which could be as early as 35K miles. Most don't realize it's leaking until it's replaced and then the car wakes up again.
