Build your own 2016 2 series (beta configurator)
Enjoy! (Thanks to 4MULA_1 in the M3/4 forum for the link!)

Make sure it says "Build a 2016" at the top once it loads. Still a few bugs, but you'll be able to see the new orbit grey wheels, package bundles and pricing. Thanks for sharing! Being able to see the orbit grey wheels on my EB/CR build is particularly helpful; I think I'm going to go with them!
EDIT: I think the orbit grey wheels will look particularly nice with black grills, carbon fiber mirror caps and maybe black chrome exhaust tips. I'll have to look into adding those afterward! Last edited by EternalVendetta; 07-16-2015 at 11:55 AM.. |

Thanks! You can select the orbit grey wheels, but doing so does not show them on the car, at least not yet. I'm very interested as I have a 235 on order and specified the optional wheels sight unseen, and I'm wondering how they will look with the black metallic paint and black convertible top.

I'm a little irked that the option to NOT get sport seats is an option you have to choose instead of standard but oh well. And I noticed that on the 228 if you opt for the THP it auto selects M Sport.

Once you get the "it doesn't work" page click the "All BMW's" link and it will take you to the main page but still on the beta site. From there you can configure whatever car you like and it will still be the beta version for 2016.

So I tried it again and if you select the optional 461 wheels then it makes you get M Sport. And you can configure the THP with Midnight Blue Metallic.

EDIT: Probably just a bug in the configurator. It's still listed as a no-cost option in the 2016 order guide.

Yep, same here, although if I look on the BMWUSA website for the status of my ordered 2016 convertible, I can see a rendering of it with the Orbit Grey wheels, and it looks to be exactly the same rendering as the one I had been able to build on the Beta configurator a few weeks ago.

I was able to get on that site before today, now I'm getting the #403 Error message now, too. Wonder when BMW will let us configure the 2016 models again. But, after hearing about all the excessive charges they are doing just to purchase a BMW, I'm not all that excited about going forward with a m235 now. $950 doc fee, another fee for $500, then a $750 fee and then a state $300 fee. I'm not ready for that. I think, bye bye BMW, back to the Mini Cooper without all those extra buying privilege charges.

I don't have the specifics right at hand, but it was stated with a buyer of a M235 from New Jersey, I believe. The car listed for $47K and some change, and they delt with him down to $$41K+ then by the time they got all the doc fees, and others. oh yes there was a $1300, I believe tax in there, so some of this was that charge. It all ended up in the mid $45K, which isn't bad, but not anywhere near the $41K deal that they started out with.
Maybe the dealership knew that they were going to tack on all those fees, and took it down so the Out the Door final price wouldn't look so bad. Don't know, but I do know that I'm getting in contact with my CA in Schaumburg and ask about fees. I read this on this forum that talked about best deals made on BMW 2 series coupes. This is a quite current deal as it was on a 2016 m235. That's about all that I can recall from the post. Bummer if this is true all over. I've always hated these docking fees, I just feel that this is a way to get more blood out of us. Mostly what I've heard about docking fees, is $950, which is what the local dealer charges, plus clean up fee, and set up fee, plus tax which they do not have control over. Oh well. Oh yes, my Mini Roadster and the hatch before that didn't have any docking fees. |
