Backup and Blindspot Detection

A friend of mine wants to buy a BMW 2 series Coupe but insists that BMW doesn't provide:

1. Back up beep or warning if you are about to hit something in the rear.
2. Blind spot warning on side view mirrors for cars passing on either side.

Is this true?

1. It is called PDC, Park Distance Control, and yes it is offered. I have it on mine.
