Hey guys, I am about to order an M235i in the next few weeks here. I'm planning on doing European Delivery, and haven't found any great dealerships down here to work with. I am having a really hard time deciding between the 6 speed manual and the 8 speed auto. The closest manual I can find is in Atlanta so needless to say that's a bit far for just a test drive. I loved the 8 speed in the car I test drove but I'm afraid I'll be bored with it because my current car is a DSG (GTI).
To the point, is there anyone down here (Miami to Palm Beach) who would be willing to let me test drive their 6 speed manual for a few minutes just so I know what I'm getting in to? I know it is a long shot, and I wouldn't even need to do any 'spirited' driving. I just want to get a feel for the clutch pedal and shifter. I would even take just sitting in it and not even driving. I'm located in Fort Lauderdale near downtown. Thanks in advance, Justin

I had the same issue while shopping for one in my region. None to be test driven until I came upon a pre-owned M235i ZF8 at an Audi dealership. It has over 19,000 miles on it but at least I was able to take a decent test drive. I then found a BMW dealership that had a 435i with a MT6. It wasn't as good a comparison test drive but at least I believe the manual transmission to be the same as what I'd find in a M235i.

And to answer your second question. Yes, by all means, step out of your region. I stepped out of state even with mine. Especially if since you are taking ED or even if you are considering PCD too. Best of both world would be to take an ED, then have BMW AG ship it to the Performance Center in Greer, SC afterwards for you to pick-up stateside.
None of my region (if you notice, I use region since its the entire quadrant of the state) dealership would even consider anything less than $500 off MSRP. I found one, BMW of San Antonio that gave me one heck of a deal on a 2015. Give Jim Wester at call at, (210) 801-8188. I don't have a dog in this one and just want to help you get going with your purchase plans. |

Definitely want to to ED. I just want to know what I'll be getting in to. I've heard good things about the 6MT.
