2016 M235i Pricing
For the past week, I have been working out the details of my Euro Delivery for my M235i. I finally settled on a travel date of 8/28 and had my CA submit over the pre-reservation. BMW NA responded by saying that I cannot order a 2015 model for August, as by that time it will be the 2016 models being built. They said "2016 models will be coming out mid to late August". As of yet, they have not released pricing for the 2016 models and are not taking orders. What is the precedent for how far in advance BMW NA releases pricing and opens for orders? I am eager to put my order in, and would love to know when I could expect to be able to do so?

In the past few years, most of BMW's next-year ordering guides have dropped in the 3rd or 4th week of May. If history repeats itself, you've got 5 or 6 more weeks. Sorry.

Well it could certainly be worse. Thank you for the information though, that's exactly what I was looking for.

AZW, I am waiting patiently with you as I want to order a 235 xdrive convertible for European Delivery, but that model is not available until MY2016.

I ended up moving my European Delivery date to July and ordering a 2015 instead. There are no major changes on the 2016 model. MY 2017 will be the LCI.

Curious how you know there are no changes given that the dealers don't have the 2016 ordering guides yet. I don't think anyone is expecting significant changes, but I'm still hoping that I'll be pleasantly surprised to be able to order a '16 235 in dark blue.

If you do some research around the web there's various sources which, with almost complete certainty, confirm this. Not to mention, my client advisor told me the same. There may very well be some changes in packages, options and colors, but the car itself (body, performance, etc.) will be unchanged. 2017 will be the LCI, and in all likelyhood will receive a naming change as well (either 240i or M240i seem to be the likely candidates)

Yeah that's what I meant, sorry for the confusion. I just went back and edited my previous post accordingly.

Seems it won't really matter as they should be the same, well except for the standard yearly BMW price increase, which I expect will between $300-$500 on the MSRP. |

BMW doesn't base the price of their vehicles in the US on the exchange rate.

Well, assuming that there's some relationship between their cost to produce the car and the price (one would think this is the case) the exchange rate is definitely a factor. In the past they have been forced to raise prices when the dollar was weak (or at least that's what they have said publicly).

I'm on the same boat of ordering a 2015 or waiting for a 2016. I will be doing a lease with PCD delivery. My only two comments about this are:
- Waiting a couple of months for a 2016 will mean that at the end of my three year lease the car will be worth more money (2016 vs 2015) even if they have the same mileage. This will make a difference at the end to possibly trade it in instead of simply returning the lease. - There were some posts/articles about navigation becoming standard for 2016 (with the small screen). This would be a nice to have since I will not be getting the tech or premium packages. Although another post/article said this was in for Germany... |

yes I agree that it's unlikely we will see them lower prices. I was just hoping that we might not see a price increase, other then one that's related to currently optional equipment becoming standard.

I just got off the phone with my CA. Like others here, I'm on the fence between a 2015 and 2016 (and also on the fence between ED and US Delivery -- lots of decisions to make, still). Anyway, I'm out of town this weekend, back Tuesday, and he told me that he should have 2016 pricing/package info by the time I get back. If I'm the first to see that info, I'll post what I find out here.
Side question: is there a precedent for consumers (me) getting their hands on the ordering guide from the dealer? Would it be unreasonable of me to ask him to fax or e-mail me a copy? Another side question: is there a place in the forums where the pricing guide would be posted once it becomes available? |

Yesterday, 6/1 I went to the dealership and they told me it's too late to order a 2015 2 series, and too early to order a 2016 2 series. So, yeah... Looks like I won't have a 2 series this summer

As for 2016s, dealerships should be getting their allocations for next month this week, so those will all be 2016s which they can order. Try talking to someone else. I think whoever you spoke with is mistaken.
