Tint & moving to LA
Hi -
I'll soon be living in southern LA and commuting to hollywood for a new job. That said I have an appointment to tint my new EB 235 (black interior) tomorrow morning. I'm thinking 70% or 50% - but what is actually safe? Can I go darker? Is 70% on the front windows too dark already? I'd love some ideas of what will pass vs getting me lulled over.. |

Haha, that's what I get for typing on my phone waiting for a movie to start!!
I'll have to take a look at the levels. I'm thinking 50% all around (except windshield, of course). 70% is like nothing =\ |

Here's mine at 20% all around. Felt a bit dark driving at night but I seem to have adjusted. The lighting isn't helping in the pics but hope this helps you out a bit.

Your car looks great! My old E92 was 35% all around. It really helped with the heat in Vegas. I think ANY tint on the front windows in California is illegal.. But I really like the visual of darker windows..
I'd like dark enough to see, ceramic that blocks the IR radiation, but not so dark that the cops make me remove it |

I totally agree with you guys, but 30% is really dark compared to 70%.. I would love to go that dark, but don't want even more attention
I ended up with 50% on front and 35% on the rest. I think it looks nice, and the contrast between the back and front makes the front look lighter.. |

Thanks.. she's out baking in our 90-degree record high since '89 heat. It already looks a lot less wavy - I'll leave it out sunday as well and by then it should be pretty well set.
I know that the window droop isn't an issue with new tint, but I still worry about it every time it happens given the "don't touch your windows for 3-5 days" that I was told.. |
