TPMS Malfunction

So I got 17" BBS SR rims and had snow tires put on them. I reused old TPMS sensors from the snow tires that were on my 135.

I drove around today and everything was fine until I got on the highway Nd began accelerating. When I got to 50 or so all these warnings started appearing "TPMS malfunction". The damn thing wouldn't telling WHICH tire had the malfunctioning sensor though. I stopped the car, restarted it, drove around a little and the error would not go away. I tried resetting the TPMS but it got stuck in resetting mode and won't actually reset now.

Am I going to have to get all four tires mounted and balanced again when they remove them to look for the faulty sensor? Is this problem typical? Could it be as simple as a dead TPMS battery? The sensors are probably 6 years old.

Honestly, I was happier before cars had TPMS sensors. They don't seem to serve any purpose other than cost way more than they should and break for no reason.

the sensors from your old 135 are not the same... you can't reuse them...

You need new sensors 433MHz

Neither of the tire places I went to mentioned this and neither did tirerack. The sensors seemed to work until I got on the highway.

Really hate TPMS even more now. I'm looking at $250 or so I'm guessing for new sensors. Plus fees to install them.

If there was a way I could disable the warning, I'd go without them. My snow tires are not runflat tires anyways and I'm going to replace the summer runflats as soon as I can.

BMW is telling me $85 a sensor!!

I think I'm just gonna go without them for now and see how annoying the car is about not having them.

Im having the same issue. I got the Apex EC-7 and the warning came on. I had new sensors put into the new wheels and tires but it seems like it still came on.

In the meantime, is there anyway to turn off the TPMS system on the 235 so it will stop warning me about them?

If you specify your car on tire rack... year model etc they will tell you at checkout that your tires need TPMS and offer them
