Southwest Virginia - Awesome Road
Just came back from holiday camping/motorcycle trip and discovered a great car route for us. From Route 460 going West away from Blacksburg, VA. Turn right onto Rt. 42 and follow my route in the map below. Turn left on Rt. 311 and you will get to Virginia's version of the Dragon.
https://www.google.com/maps/dir/37.7...37.2897829!3e0 Make sure you follow Rt 42 to left onto John's Creek Road. The first 3.2 miles of John's Creek will require you to be in Sport + mode and shift your butt off! Last edited by Delnari; 08-10-2014 at 03:25 PM.. |

I've had quite a bit of fun on those roads in and around the Jefferson National Forest too. Of course this was when I was in college over there and didn't have as nice of a car to drive. |

The Virginia byway from bedford and drops out on 29 just south of Altivista is also excellent. Ran it last week and still have a smile on my face, my two corgis, not so much.

Route 311 from north of Paint Branch, VA to New Castle, VA. Just be careful of the motorcyclist if it's a warm weekend day. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/37.7...b1!4m2!4m1!3e0 |
