When GM releases a new firebird, I might have to get one if it has atleast the LS3 engine in it, just for the memories.
Not interested in anything else GM produces except the corvette. Sorry |

I think M3This' point is that manufacturers can do amazing things with even a FWD.
So basically...it's quite possible that a well sorted out FWD car can do sub 9 minute 'ring times. I don't dispute that all...in fact I bet they were able to do it using a driver with balls of steel, racing compound tires and certain suspension tweaks. But then again a well sorted out sports car can do even faster times. The new GT-R is doing 7:38...so looks like everything is getting faster and faster these days. Having said that...I would still drive my "slow-ass" 325i over a supercharged Cobalt. Like c'mon...it's a Cobalt. |

To GM: Yeah, thanks but no thanks. I think I'll hang on to my 335i for a while instead. You guys keep up the great work over there!

.... and since when was the 335i made to be a track star? be happy that you guys have a wonderful luxury GT than can still beat many cars twice its price in acceleration, if not stock, then with a few dollars of work, you can't win them all... jesus.

what is the point of this thread? why even compare GMs non-production track machine to a stock 335i which is basically a luxury car. great comparison. great thread.

I bet that thing will be a hoot on the track. Probably will be tough to match the bang for the buck. I do recall the old supercharged Cobalt SS being the fastest fwd sport compact during C&D's Lightning Lap at VIR, and thats with only 215hp.
