I have to laugh at this bit, though:
"With just 3525 pounds to punt around..." "Just" 3,525 pounds? I think that they've been driving too many AWD luxury sedans and SUVs lately. As much as I like the M235i, it is a bit of a porker for its size. Last edited by Canaletto; 06-02-2014 at 05:56 PM.. |

My E93 M3 weighed 4,200 pounds (albeit it was a hardtop convertible)

I have both the m235i and the e93 M3. The m235i is noticeably faster.

VERY Nice! I did not realize the M235i was that good a performer, relative to the M3.
Makes me even more excited to take delivery of my car, which should be on Wednesday! |

Wow that was a great review for the M235i.
I'm surprised by some of their comments. Like 100% of the e92 M3's performance for 2/3 the cost. I agree with the cost but would not go that far as to say 100% as I think that's ludicrous. But this just gives credence to what I've been saying all along. The M2 will be just as fast if not faster than the E92 M3 on the track when it comes out.

The most relevant performance number for me was the fact that the car was tested on 91 octane at California proving grounds. It is already faster than my departed E39 M5 and likely a 110+ mph trap car with some decent 93 octane in it!

Car and drivers times are always much lower than almost all other reviewers. They use a 3 foot rollout on all their 0-60, 1/4 mile so they aren't really that real-world accurate. Only to compare to other C&D times...
That said they are definitely my favorite magazine reviewer.
