Car Shipping Company Recommendations?
In the next two weeks, I'm likely going to need to ship my car from MA out to CA. I just received a whole bunch of quotes from about 10-15 companies, but wanted to see if anyone here has shipped their car recently and had a good experience.
I used Dependable Auto Shippers last time I moved, and they ended up busting the seam of my driver's side seat in my old car, so I'm not going to be using them again, especially since they claimed it was my fault, not their driver. Thanks for any help. |

I used Wheels on Wheels this past February.. Shipped from CA to LA. 1900 miles. It was $645. Car was delivered to me one day late due to bad weather in Texas but the driver called me and kept me informed of the delay and delivered my car to my driveway in perfect condition

I'm going back about 10 years. I transported my car from NY to San Diego, CA using A1 auto transport. My car was on the lower level of an open car transport. Turns out the car above mine had an oil leak and dripped all over my roof for 5 days. Needless to say I was pissed. If I can offer you some advice, I would recommend your vehicle be placed on the upper level.
To make matters worse, the trucking company has a drop off location close to the vehicles final destination. This was not explained to me, but a third party towing company then delivers your car to your front door. That driver tacked on another couple hundred dollars?? Oh, and he arrived two days late. Next time I’ll drive it cross country! |

The high end dealer around the corner from my office uses Intercity Line and Horseless Carriage from what I can tell. They ship everything - Bugattis, McLarens, Ferraris and so on.

Call some of the higher end dealers near you for a recommendation. No offense to anyone opining here, but at most any one person ships cars what, once every few years? Dealers do it all the time, will have a much better sample size of experience.

Are you moving furniture, if so do you think you will fill most of a truck. Reason I said this is when I moved from CA to PA, I had a restored 66 Mustang which I want shipped back and there was no way I was putting it on a car carrier and I did not want to kill my moving budget by using one of the enclosed car shipping companies. I got the Moving company to agreed to put my car inside the trailer with my furniture. It was less costly then a car carrier and the car arrived without issue since I was the one who loaded it on the trailer and we able to place it so it did not require them to pull it off to unload other people's stuff which was also on the truck at the time.

I have used Intercity Lines a few times, never had a bad experience, though you are going to pay more for the services that they provide.

Intercity is definitely more expensive but you're paying for the lower likelihood of issues. Their list of clients is massive and a who's who of fine autos.

I used McKnight Logistics to get my built sti from Chicago to Houston for Big Meet 3 a few years ago, and a month later had it shipped back to Chicago.
I believe it was $620 each way rushed down and back and a distance of about 1000 miles each way. zero issues and I spoke directly with Morgan McKnight numerous times to ensure my car would be 100% safe during both trips. |

Angels Moving Autos... They shipped my M3 from Cali to South Carolina in a closed container.
They were fantastic with great service and communication. Not to mention they ship many exotics, My M3 was in the same closed trailer as a rolls royce. Bit of advice, spend the extra cash and go with a closed container, which is what I did. Avoid any chips in your paint. |

didn't read this thread but cover your car. i had a car shipped from chicago to ca and i gues it got caught in a rain storm followed by a dust storm. it had a mm of mud on it when we got it back. it took forever to get all the dirt out of every crack.

Shipping Companies?
Hey guys, my work plans for next year have changed and I'm looking to get my car shipped from Baltimore to Los Angeles.
Does anyone have any recommended companies? When I had my 335is, I was able to get my car from LA to Baltimore for about $900, but it was an open top. Any recommendations? Thanks!

I'll drive it there for you for less than $900.

Appreciate the humor... but this is pretty time sensitive as I'll only be in Baltimore from July 17-22 and if I don't get my car shipped to LA at that time, I'll need to book another flight to Baltimore and back just to ship the car..
Law School and Job plans in DC both fell through in the same week, so moving back to sunny Los Angeles for a year at least.

In my experience the best on the business are Intercity Lines, they only use closed carriers but of course is a lot more that 900. I just ship my M4 from LA to Atlanta for 1850.

Weekend road trip! Wrap the front in ez-shield temporary PPF and you'll be good to go. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with Inter City Lines.
