M235i Spare Tire or Not?
It is common knowledge that the M235 will not come with run-flats and will instead come with the highly thought of Michelin Super Sports. This being the case, will the M235 then come with a full spare tire and wheel? If so, that is a lot of unnecessary weight that could be removed if you are taking it to the track for the day.

It should come with a mobility kit (electric pump and tire goop canister) No spare.

well that would be good. As long as they give you something to help out in case of an emergency.

if that is the case then I will def get an electric pump to get me down the road if possible because waiting for roadside assistance can suck a dong sometimes.

In fact, the M235i can be ordered with performance (e.g. summer) RFTs or All Season (A/S) RFTs as a N/C option. Personally, I plan on ordering a M235i Cabrio xDrive with A/S RFTs in the fall.

I think I'll stick with the Super Sports. Just too good of a set of tires.

I've ordered the M235i with March 8 ED. The standard wheel/tire is 2PG which is a performance RFT . There is no option for a non-RFT, unless they've changed the Canadian order guides since Dec 18.
IF you order the car with a/s tires, then you've just cut the top speed to about 135 mph from 155, since the a/s tires are not rated for the higher speed and they dial back the computer. I have ordered the summer performance tires and will also get winter tires and rims. The Michelin PSS don't show up on the Canadian sheets. They may be a US-only option at the moment. I'm calling my CA tomorrow to make sure. |

Just checked both guides and the standard wheel/tire in each is shown as 2PG, but they're slightly different: The US guide shows "mixed summer tires" with 18.5 x 7.5 rear. The Canadian guide shows "perf RFT" with 18 x 8.0 rear. The rest matches.

No spare on mine. (There is literally nowhere to put it)
Canadian car with PSS's. Came with the bmw mobility kit (aka compressor + fix a flat). Recommendation was just to use bmw assist if anything happens though. |

In the USA, we get the mobility kit and BMW Roadside Assistance that can be reached thru the SOS button on the overhead
Americans are too fat and lazy to be changing tires roadside. That is a another job created to help move our economy forward. |

the road side assistance is excellent. When I cracked my wheel they were there in 20 min. Towed to BMW dealer and followed up with phone call to see how my experience was.
