I don't think the 4er is ugly - but I do think it's too damn big. I saw one a couple of weeks back and I seriously thought it was a 6er from the side, and at a decent distance.
BMW has made airplanes...bikes...cars...fuck it, let's make some boats while we are at it!

The rear styling of the 2 reminds me of the Dodge Neon. I was gonna be pissed if it came with an LSD, because they all need it. I will eventually get it

However I will be surprised if we don't see an M340i and M440i after LCI with about 330-340bhp... Which knowing BMW will also have optional MPPK, to make a bit of extra cash. Glad you like it though. |

It's hard to argue about something as subjective as looks. In my opinion, the 4 series is a good looking vehicle, as is the 2 series in M-sport trim.
Now speed is very objective. Motor Trend has tested both the M235i and the 435i convertible. The M235i had a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds, compared to 5.0 seconds for the 435i convertible. I can't seem to find an F32 Auto 435i acceleration time, as C&D only tested the manual and it was slower at 5.2 seconds. |

... let's see, 4-series has dual vagina air intakes (aggressive air intakes is great but not if they look like female anatomy), front headlights that bleed into the nose (fine for a 4-door but not a sports coupe), side reverse-7 non-body-colour air vents (that look ridiculous and standout like a sore thumb, and suck compared to those on the new corvette), rear tailights as unimaginative as ever, no passenger headroom in the rear seats (car is bigger than outgoing 335i and yet BMW located the rear seats and/or roofline poorly such that u hit your head), the car is $10K overpriced vs. comparable beloved 335i design (why would I pay more for such ugliness?), looks somewhat like the butt ugly 6-series (and no that's not a good thing)... need I say more? Just MHO.
Granted the 2-series isn't perfect either... ugly rims and the car is too small/stubby... certainly not as nice as the outgoing 335i - but much better than the 4-series. BMW will learn the hard way... just look at all of the previous 335i owners (including myself) switching to the M235i. Last edited by Dr. Indiana Jones; 05-16-2014 at 10:02 AM.. |

If someone blurted things like that out in real life they'd quickly become a pariah. Yet for some reason we feel entitled to do it online. With the right wheels the 4 series is pretty handsome in my opinion. |

435i F32 PPK
This is a run I did in my 435i (F32) with MPPK:
I installed the PPK when the car had 1000km and so it has been run-in properly. My 80kph to 200kph is around 11.9 seconds making it much quicker than the M235i. Also this run was done at an altitude of 1,753 metres (5,751 ft) above sea level. I would say that the 250kw that BMW are claiming is actually closer to 260kw. To all the 435i owners out there, get the PPK it is the best money you will ever spend! Last edited by alex75; 07-24-2015 at 01:47 AM.. |
