Like.
We need one mini-practical vehicle. Depending on how this little thing drives, may eventually trade our Mk6 GTI hatch for it... especially if it is offered with AWD

NOBODY CARES DUDE... That is the cheapest looking (& cheapest designed) BMW I have ever seen. Just looks like a cheap, little suv. The Ford Escape looks more respectable to drive, & own. Secondly, who... is the target audience, for this tiny SUV? (in America) Uno scott, small families don't shop expensive little SUVs, for starting out. (They shop value). And bigger and more established families will choose the X1, or bigger. Lastly, I know more people that want a BMW 5-door (hatchback, or wagon)... than want a Ford Escape look-a-like, using a bmw badge. |

Pretty embarrased to be a BMW fan at times like this.
Not because of the 2AT - that's just a bit frumpy looking... no, it's because of the self-important, 'murica-centric, narrow-minded bunch of opinions I'm reading on this site. I don't mind if people don't like it, personally I'm not a big fan - but then I'm not the target demographic, however some people are spewing some real reactionary knee-jerk BS at the moment... not just here, but on other forums too. I don't like Blue Cheese sauce, but I don't go around swearing that it's pointless and I'll never eat in a steak house that serves it ever again.. I'll just not order it. I think that calling it the 2 series is a mistake driven by the marketing department, but other than that, it is what it is. Don't like it, don't buy it. People didn't like the X5, people thought the 1 series would cheapen the brand, but then people also thought the world was flat and camera's would steal their souls. |

Not around here. Just sayin.
I get that you have to present this shit burger to the world and hope that some people buy it...but you aren't going to get the best reaction in an enthusiast environment with a FWD Minivan with a BMW badge on it. But by all means, sell us the shit burger.

There will be huge exposure on this car as it is the star of the Geneva stand.

interior is less busy than a MINI countryman and better use of the space.
I owned the MB B-class for three years. A great alternative to minivans which I didn't really need with a newborn. The b-class drove like crap but a great turbo engine for it's time. Coming from the MINI Cooper it was tough to take the degrade in handling but kid duties ruled the day. now that the stroller is gone, I can go back to a sedan. the thing that kills me isn't all the iterations of cars BMW puts out, it's the lack of a manual transmission. no matter how good the 8AT is, I'd drive a Mini countryman with a 6MT over the BMW if it's 8at only. when you produce only automatics, you let me shop all the brands. MB lost my next sale after the B200T because they didn't sell another MT car I could want. That's when I went to BMW Last edited by focal; 02-13-2014 at 06:14 PM.. |
