Suspension Option/Performance Exhaust
Can you guys offer some clarity on the suspension options that we will have with the M235i?
It's my understanding that we will have 3 choices: - M Sport - M Adaptive - M Performance (sits 10mm lower) What do you guys think the M performance will cost? I personally think the car in the press release photos sits a tad high. Also, what do people think about getting the performance exhaust? I'm thinking I need the M performance diffuser, spoiler, suspension and now maybe even exhaust. This thing is going to get expensive really fast.

I'm curious to hear about the M performance suspension and exhaust as well.
Many people might say its better to get a true suspension for that cost (around 1.5k I think without installation for the M performance). Granted, since nobody has driven the car, nobody can speculate if the M performance suspension is needed or not. If the M235i comes like the e82 1 series, that suspension was too floaty. However, reading reviews on the CLA45 AMG, they suggest not getting the AMG suspension because it is too stiff. Same with the exhaust. While the M performance exhaust sounds good, IMO its not loud or exotic enough, but for the everyday person I think they like it because its not over aggressive or annoying. (in addition, its not a true exhaust, but an axelback) I really think if BMW wants to sell many M performance accessories, they need to look at their prices better. For exterior bits, no way I am going for BMW. I got my carbon fiber spoiler for my 128i for 200 bucks, and fitment was perfect (weave was 8/10). OEM parts are expensive. On the CLA45 AMG, the AMG performance exhaust is only $450. That seems much more reasonable to me. If the M performance exhaust was $450 (instead of double that) I would definitely purchase it. Same thing with the AMG suspension, I believe the package is 1,500 and you get AMG performance suspension, 19 wheels, and red brakes. I think the biggest issue the 2 series faces is that nobody knows anything about it. For example, the M235i comes standard with a "sportier exhaust" than stock 35i cars. Why are they selling an M performance exhaust then??

With the M Perf suspension you still get the adaptive dampers right? So won't have to worry too much about ride being too harsh.
Now OEM m Perf parts are expensive but good thing is they are included into your monthly payments which means if you are leasing you will only pay about half (depending on residuals) the price of the parts

I'd wait to see part numbers of M3/m4 control arms and see about retrofitting them. Early research looks promising
