Ran over rock in road today. It was about six inches in size. Tried to go around but ended up hitting right rear. Car will need to be in shop five days while they find wheel. Needs wheel and tire 800$

yes PSS. Tire did not look bad but I am sure since it broke the wheel it was damaged. Dealer wants 300.00, I can get for 237.00

Makes me think that maybe I should have bought tire and wheel insurance. It was $1,200 for four years.
It didn't cover curb rash or I would have done it. |

I guess you have to play your odds. I have been driving for 53 years and never had an issue like this. I may put it through my auto insurance and see what happens there.

I had a blowout on the highway the other day, luckily had tire/rim insurance. Flatbed to dealer, got a call from the dealer who was trying to figure out how I managed to not only puncture the tire but also put a good size hole in the rim as well. I should mention that it was a rear tire, possibly something kicked up from the front tire. Either these rims are pretty weak or I drove over something quite large.

That is not right. Two rim failures in such a new car. Need to keep an eye on this. When are you getting a replacement. They told me five days before they can get a wheels.

I sent an e-mail to BMWNA with my concerns about the wheels. I wonder if there is some design flaw. I will keep all updated when I hear back.

destroyed wheel
Well got the car back today. I gave had it three weeks with the last week in the shop for destroyed wheel from a rock in the road. Total cost to date 847.00, I have enclosed picture of the wheel. These things are really thin compared to other wheels. Be very careful of road hazards.
