BMW M Performance front splitter
Hello all,
About to get the BMW front splitter from mod bargains here local to me. just a few questions. they said the fitment is the most perfect plug and play versus eBay ones but from your guy's experience, does it "lower" the car much? i need some clearance because the entrance into my garage is raised a bit, my current BRZ which is lowered about an inch can't make it up going straight in without scraping so i have to back it in. And most people just get the front splitter unpainted correct? i will be getting a 2017 mineral white M240 Thanks all!! John |

The fitment truly is plug and play, no issues. I have it on mine with M-sport suspension and in total the car is 15mm lower then regular ones. Suspension alone lowers the car 10mm and the splitter lowers it 5mm. It doesn't give me a though time and roads here are sh*t. I only had an issue once while I was getting into a garage that had a pothole just between the street and the ramp into it, went in crossways with no problem. I had mine in black but the connection to the bumper painted in the car's color (alpine white, see the attachment). It really gives the car that aggressive look and you should definitely go for it, if I can manage in this kind of road conditions, I'm sure you'll be just fine

If you are sticking with stock suspension then there is nothing that can stop you 5mm what they told me it would be and to my eye it seems like it. I got mine from BMW. If you have any questions don't hesitate to shoot them at me

so do you know how far your bottom of your lip is from the ground? i couldn't find the ground clearance on a stock M240 either.

Unfortunately I don't know and the car is at the service for a transmission issue. I can measure it once I have it back and report here if that's fine with you?

I had an frs that was lowered about 2-3 inches and I noticed that the frs had less issues getting into driveways that my m235i with the m performance lip at stock height. I think this because the m235 bumper is longer from the tire.

Interested in seeing it with the upper parts white and lip black. I'm heading the same way but the lower part in ferric grey.

It looks more natural in terms of transition of colors IMO. I don't have any on my phone but will take one for you tomorrow, do you have any specific angles you'd like besides the direct front view?

Here's a pic that shows how much it adds. The problem comes from the middle part of the bumper since you'll now how a piece that bridges the two corners together. That's the part that makes it tough and takes away ground clearance. It also sticks out in front of the car so you need to be careful of cement parking stops when parking the car.
