As an alternative you could do their bluetooth connection. You have to purchase the dongle and app, but it's not too bad. Worth every penny being able to log from my phone. Trying to do it with a laptop was a pain.

You still need to run the OBD2 to use the Bluetooth kit

Yes, on the drivers side. Pics can be found in their install guide on their website.
Install guide says to remove and leave the grommet out. I put a hole in my grommet instead and reused it to seal the hole and wires. Last edited by Anthony235; 05-02-2016 at 11:01 AM.. |

Having trouble finding the magic grommet.
My car is a '14 6 spd. Did you go (cut) through the large odbii grommet by pushing from the inside behind the dash in one of the round indents? I'd hate to cut it and mess up a wire from the loom. Or has anyone pushed the grommet aside for what looks like a brake vacuum hose? thanks |

Anyone know of a better way to get the OBDII cable inside the car? I really don't want to be poking holes around my clutch line.

Anyone? I tried fishing the wire through this morning and it was a no go. How did you all manage to get the bulky clip through such a tight squeeze?
At this point I'm thinking I may need to simply extend the jb4 wires into the cabin and connect the obd2 inside the car (as opposed to in the engine bay). Any thoughts greatly appreciated. There really needs to be a better solution for 6MT or a 6MT specific cable... |

Did you take the grommet off or literally just push the clutch line aside? I got a screwdriver through to the cabin and taped the obd2 cable to it but it's so bulky that with the clutch line and grommet there, I couldn't get it through when pulling the screwdriver out.
