Has anyone painted the rear diffuser
I've got a glazier silver 228i M Sport ragtop on order.
The only issue I have with the configuration is the M Sport rear diffuser - I'm not a fan of the look.. I could opt for the 228i M performance diffuser, but they're a bit pricey, so I'm considering having the M Sport diffuser repainted in body colour (glazier silver). I'm aware that some 135i owners had their rear diffusers repainted to match the body colour on their cars several years ago and I'm wondering if anyone here has done the same with either the M235i or 228i M Sport diffuser? Am I alone in my opinion of the M235i and M Sport diffuser? TIA.

I am seriously considering painting my mirror covers and rear diffuser body color as well. I found this thread on the forum with great pics.

I painted mine. Along with the mirrors and color matched the front reflectors.
Here is my car right out of the dealer thread. http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1004452 Dealer painted the parts for me. It was apart of my deal to buy the car. I later added the black grills and color match reflectors

I probably should have negotiated it into the deal, but there's a body shop close to me which I have used on several (unfortunate)occasions which does great paint jobs at very reasonable prices, so I'm good to go..

Same as photo. Estoral Blue. Was thinking of possibly going with gloss black defuser as I am doing gloss black wheels but decided to stick with blue. I'll post pics though anyway. Throwing black grills and black tail pipe finishers as well

BTW, I saw a 228i EB M Sport on the road a few days ago and it looked real sharp (it was debadged, btw)... The rear diffuser was the stock black M Sport, which really didn't look as bad as I thought it would, but the painted one by OP looks way better. That said, I don't know why they put bright chrome exhaust tips on the M Sport rather than darker ones, so I'll be replacing mine as well with black exhaust tips. Where are you getting the black tips from? BMW or some 3rd party?

These are the tips I'm going with first. Just think the black will look better. May get exhaust later but have more mods to get first. Next will be suspension then something to replace these halogens. Thinking OSS |

They will certainly look better than the chrome, although, I'd prefer they were more of a matt black than the high gloss black.

Here is mine back from the body shop. Looks really good in person. Threw some black tips on for a cleaner finish (hate chrome) until an exhaust is released.

That looks real sharp..
BTW, did they remove the diffuser to paint it, or did they paint it while attached to the vehicle?

They removed it. I also had them paint the front reflectors also. IMO car looks much more finished this way. Now suspension, wheels, JB4... Does it ever end. Coming from a wrangler I thought that was bad. Haha

What????
Too bad it's not glazier silver or I'd be interested. BTW, who supplies fiber carbon diffusers for the 228i?
