M235i owners...lets be honest
Ok, I have to confess...the m235i in comfort mode sucks. I know its suppose to be comfortable but its slow and soft, i dont like to hit a button to go fast

Also, I kind of dig the comfort for my daily driver use. It's stiffer than my GTI was, but also compliant enough not to rupture my internal organs. |

Definitely share the same thoughts!
Eco/Comfort (relatively speaking) feels like the car bogs... that being said, I spend much of my time in those settings. Can't argue with greater MPG for the daily commute

THIS!
When I anticipate a dangerous situation/pinch come up where I need to get out as fast as possible.. always 2 clicks up before I even try making a move. Even worse is trying to make a left hand turn in eco mode.. car shut off when I was in the middle of an intersection LOL. Never making that mistake again haha

Me I get in, put the seatbelt on, start the car and put it in sport+ mode from the start. Best of both worlds. |

To go back to a comment i made when I first got the car...I think they got the "mode" options ass backwards. It should be set up that you need to click the button to "pussy down" not man up.
In my opinion the best set up would be default at start up in configurable sport mode. If you want track mode click to sport +, if you want "wifey" mode click down to comfort. And if your traveling and want to conserve energy click down twice to econo. Can we code it like that |

I have only 228i and I drive in comfort most of the time. Of course, it is a bit slow but I got 228i to replace Jetta TDI so I was leaning toward economy more to begin with but even that, it's still faster than most cars on the street.
Anyway if I want something truly fast and throw economy out of the window, I would drive my other car

Definitely do not feel that way, but I have the 6 speed so that may be making a difference. Even in eco pro its not that bad if you actually give it enough gas, but you do need to give it a lot of gas in that case.

When in eco mode, on my AT, you have to manually downshift and floor it to overtake... the auto kickdown feels like its disabled in eco... but when you manually pull down a couple gears it goes fine.

I use comfort to quiet the car down sometimes (around boy racers who might think I was to race just cause the car rev matched while braking). Also on the highway there is no need to use sport or sport shift as it just decreases comfort and increases fuel economy. I have had some success with locking the car in 8th gear to save some gas though.
In the city I get shitty mileage anyjow so sport+ summer and probabaly sport in winter. No need to drift EVERY corner. |

I find it just as easy to pull the shifter over into sport. It will immediately shift down and continue to shift more aggressively until you push it back over.

I still think it's silly that you buy a sports coupe and you have to press a button to make it drive like a sports coupe.....doesn't anyone else see this as silly?
I agree 1000000% if they are going to put a button then it should default to sport on a sports car and you have to press Comfort if you want it. If you buy a Luxury car, then it should default to comfort and you select sport...but that's too logical. |
