Strange that the M3/4's have adaptive suspension, though. Figured they would have ported that same tech over to the M2, but maybe it's a $$ thing, trying to keep M2's costs down? Just like no "M" mirrors on the M2... D

here was my analysis, if it helps... 4 looks so much better (to me anyway)... it has real presence, the 2 looks a little too boy/girl racer. You can get these toys on the 4, but not the 2: - top and side cameras - head up display (my favorite thing on my 4) - the whole wave your foot to open the trunk thing (so useful when you walk out of the wine store with a case of wine) - the seat belt arm 0-60 of 4.2 for the M240xi... nuff said. You can pretty much outfit the 4 to the same level w/ MSport package, MPPSK, and track package. It'll be about 12k more than the 2. But residuals are higher on the 4, and there is higher loyalty and/or option allowance, so the monthly cost is only about 100-120 off, so not really material. I went and test drove a M235i (since the 240 wasn't avail yet), and I have to say it felt a lot more fun than my 435. More "tossable", "nimbler", whatever... The cabin felt so like the 4, it was a non-factor. In the end, I figured I was choosing more fun over prettier. And I kinda felt like I didn't want "the same" car again. So, I went with a M240xi. Hopefully there'll be a M440i when the new body comes out, or better a M650i... Btw, I'd love a real M, but living in colorado, and hitting the slopes often, the x-drive was a must. |

Mine went into production today.. M240i. As everyone says, the wait is not fun By the way, the one thing I am concerned about is if the upgraded HK system is any good in this M240i. My E90 330i had an unbelievable sound..the best if I recall. My Audi with B&O is on par...a bit more clear but I prefer HK bass. But my worry is that some folks here have said M235i was a shitty system and not really Logic7 HK and just 7 speakers etc..
I would appreciate if anyone has a M240i and have heard the sound and if there is any change from 235 on that front.. |

All that said, there is mounting evidence that 2017 2 Series cars -- particularly the HK in the M2, which is all but identical in form and function to the HK in all other 2 Series cars -- have many of those issues resolved. We don't yet know how; it could be the wiring issue is fixed, or a less-intrusive ASD, or upgraded hardware and/or software. But in any case, upgrading the 2 Series HK is fairly easy and relatively inexpensive.
