Just want to say... this community is awesome... you guys rocked the group buy, and have been awesome with making sure everyone is in the loop. I did end up tossing in free (optional) jb4(piggyback) connection kits that you guys might have noticed... those don't normally come with the gauges, but I figured you guys would like to have them :-)

My tracking number shows that it has left the local post office
And THANKS, RiXst3r, for the JB4 connection kit!!! It will definitely come into play in my car This is how a group buy SHOULD be run - win/win, to the umpteenth degree!

Got it all done. Probably would have been a little bit easier to do some of the things had I not cut my finger nails two days ago, but still it was pretty easy.

Got mine a few days ago and finally got around to installing it today.
I did not get it pre-installed in the vent. For the most part it was pretty straight forward however installing the slats back into the vent was a giant pain in the ass. Specifically, the small plastic piece provide to connect the slats together kept falling off and this alone took me 10-15 attempts before I could get it back together properly. Looks good and everything functions as expected. One note, the slats do not seem to slide as far left/right and up/down as the unmodified vent. I suppose this is to be expected as the cable is now preventing full range of motion. The "on/off" circle control still seems to click fully open and closed so thats good. Is everyone else's experience similar or did I not lay the cable down flat enough? |

Hardest part for me was getting the replacement link for the slats to fit, I had to shave it down a little bit with a sharp blade as it was just too thick.

Mine was delivered today - just need to wait until my wife's car is delivered in early January to install it for her! The ship her car is on is heading for Savannah at the moment, a lot of sailing left before it reaches Australia...

15 Minute install PLUG & PLAY
I purchased the pre-assembled unit.
Hardest part was finding the OBD socket. (it's just under the dash in the drivers kick panel) Be careful of the white air adjusting arm it's fragile. Last edited by lieb923; 11-10-2014 at 04:25 PM.. |
