When can we expect a different "top of the line" engine for the M235? The N55 is getting a bit long in the tooth.
Can they explain the thought process of the rear end design of the M235? To me, it is the weakest and potentially most controversial part of the exterior design - aka, the camber is not too aggressive, slightly flat and less sculpted than the E82. Maybe they think one end must be ugly on the entry level coupe (front end on E82, back end on the 2er)? Why is there only one wheel choice for the M235, with several existing for the 228i? Why no LED headlight option ? Why is the MT a "no cost option", instead of charging people for the AT? You could have made the M235 42.5k with a MT and 44k with the AT... Where are the 19' wheel options and prices ?

Xdrive. How will the Xdrive system work with the M235i? Will it work just like any other BMW XDrive? Or will it be special specific to the M235i (sporty 4WD system)?

I'm skipping the question and going for a demand:
Better make the M2 or else

I would much rather have a 400 HP M2 than any american car in the price range, but I can't buy it if they don't make it. Though, a corvette's performance to price ratio is rather compelling.

Maybe you would like a integrated Bedit as well with temperature controlled hot water and adjustable spray pattern?
It's tough market out there in the 50g price range and BMW should listen to the enthusiasts and offer them a package with minimalist luxury items and stick to your roots and offer the M2 up quick. BMW NEEDS this shot of reality to keep the enthusiasm flowing... The M235i will be nice car but at the moment a bit so so in looks and....not exactly sure what it is but it seems something is missing. and it's not a comfort item... |

Question about marketing. There is a lot of excitement generated by the release of this car. So far the exact same marketing is being used as for the 135i...comparing it to the 2002. Being that the e82 was revolutionary for it's time and this is evolutionary is their any plans to give this car a more aggressive marketing plan, especially here in the US where it will be looked at as a poor mans 4 series?

When the 128i and 135i came out, the buzz was it was going to be a big hit for club racers and autocrossers. Instead BMW USA softened it and only offered leather and leatherette in USA and almost all of them were fully loaded, bloated automatics and no LSD. Will BMW reconsider offering M235i with cloth or alcantara sport seats and fixed suspension? Why take the choice away for a fixed suspension?
Secondly, the video display in the line of sight is also an eyesore and distraction for "focused drivers." Again, no choice if you don't take navigation. Is BMW USA going to make the M235i for the masses and will offer the M2 without the video display and fixed suspension? Will the LSD be Limited Slip or Full-lock unit like ///M cars? Finally, will M235i be sold with "allocations" like 1M or will it be a normal car? Last edited by nachob; 01-07-2014 at 03:03 PM.. |

BMW individual is not available on the 1er or 2er as they do not have the paint facilities to accommodate at Leipzig.

M2 specifications not final but strategy under conception. They won't have any answers relating to an M2. This is about the 2er and for M. The M235i only.

It's not an awful design , its is function over form. And relevant to pedestrian and front crumple zone safety. It also allows for cheaper repair costs in light accidents. The 2er although it is arriving to the market was designed in late 2008 so it conforms to engineering of the 1er which meant that these areas had to be accommodated for safety issues. The new 7er is a later car and some bonus safety technology will be available with that car.
