Stuck on "PRODUCTION BEGINS"
Ok... Order was placed a while back.
The anticipated completion date is 1/20/20, from the day the status changed to "PRODUCTION BEGINS" on 12/10/19 no status change =( No further update is available. Dang I need my car! =( |

I’ve been to the BMW factory in Munich. Your car will be built in a matter of hours.
The “body” was likely built at least a week ago on a fully automated production line. This line ends with a fully assembled and painted shell. The car is “stored” for a week so that the paint can fully cure. Then it’s on to the production line. Parts for your car arrived s at the production line a few minutes before they go on/in the car. The last stop is where the headlamps are aimed via 2 “wands” that are inserted into the alignment slots in the underhood sheet metal. Oh, the factory I toured was spotless, absolutely totally dust/dirt free. |

Order placed in November, status changed to 150 (production started) on 10-Dec-2019, estimated completion date is 20-Jan-2020 (UPDATE: 20th Jan is the correct date, not 1st Jan. It was a typo), no change in status yet. In mygarage dot bmwusa dot com there are statuses like Exterior Body Assembly begins and In the Paint Shop before production ends. Anybody has experience following this? Last edited by IchMagMunchen; 01-20-2020 at 11:56 AM.. Reason: Fix wrong date / typo |

While not bad, this online tracking tool is way less real time than they would have you to believe.
Your "entering assembly stage" very well might advance to completion by the end of the day. |

I had a similar experience over the summer. While I am told it is much better than it used to bet he system seems as though it is stuck. Once your car arrives at the port you should be able to get the ship name. What are the specs of your respective builds?

Status on mygarage changed to Dispatched from Factory on 1/22 and it has been "At the Port" since 1/23. It's the same on the genius phone line too. My port of entry is NYC. YerrowDriver, Did you get the ship name from the dealer? |
