Nice. Is that factory torque or tuned? I think 330 ft lb is already a lot. If only my local dealer was willing to give me a discount this year's model... I'm not willing to pay full price for something that will take a hit.
Oh well... I'm debating between a Golf R or just wait for the M240i. |

M240: clever marketing in order to draw off those who will want Xdrive and/or convertible on the M2, but who won't get it.
But, I still have heartburn with offering Xdrive without the MT6 as an option. |

Yikes.... So, does that mean that the M240i will really have 379+39 = 418 ft lbs?

so if BMW is taking orders from July, does that mean i can order one in July at my local dealer as well?.
if so, how long does it normally take to actually get to drive the car after ordering? |

Take a look at cars.com on used BMWs. You'll see a ton of 3 series and like some 2 series. There is not a lot of people who appreciate that kind of car here. I think that's unfortunate, because for my taste, the 3/4 series are too big and I wish I could get a smaller 4-door RWD bmw (no 2016 M135i here). For ppl who don't need the power (or size), it would make total sense to get a 220i. It is what it is... maybe in a few years, when americans are less in need of boat-sized cars lol |

Those of you asking why BMW make an M2 when the 240i power is so close to it? The answer is simple. The 235i power is far away enough to distinguish the M2 apart from it. And the LCI M2 will do the same for the 240i in a couple of years.

First videos of the M240i ?
Sound : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cq3a0PSb2Z4 (In case the video doesn't work) M235i "vs" M240i. It seems that the camera is in the M240i. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaueSSDCMF8 |

This process occurs slowly, but surely, and consumer preferences evolve to match. What used to be considered a large car is now the "new normal", because no car manufacturer can risk consumers hearing the argument that their competitor's offering has "3 inches more leg room", or "6 cubic feet more trunk space."
