ED invoice price?
I apologize if this has been posted somewhere already, but has anyone been able to pin down the ED invoice prices for 2015 2's? I had someone tell me you typically take .93 of MSRP, then .92 of that number, but he wasn't sure if he got the order correct.
Edmunds gave me a regular invoice price for the M235i of 40,150, but I just can't track down ED. Side question: options don't have ED invoice prices, right? Same invoice prices as normal orders? |

ED Invoice
Here how it works:
ED Invoice is 7% off the BASE price of the US Invoice PLUS US invoice prices on all packages and options. MSRP is also 7% off but MSRP doesn't really mean anything. |

Also, in reference to invoice prices (car or options), how often do they change? Can they change monthly, or do they just change with model years? |

Thanks for the info. Per cehlion's post, I took 7% off US Invoice for M235i ($40,150 on Edmunds) and got $37,339.50. Again, close to the number you gave, but a little off. I'm assuming 7% just isn't exact? Out of curiosity, where did you get that ED invoice figure from?

I would just stick with the MSRP * .93 * .92 since this gets you within $50 usually. Options are 91% of MSRP (same as US invoice). This is better than trying to figure ED invoice as a product of US invoice. Unless you got a pricing sheet from a dealer, who knows whether that US invoice price is accurate? MSRP is always accurate, it's right there on the bmwusa.com website.
I just contacted a dealer and asked for the ED invoice pricing sheet. No guess work.

Dealer profit.
It's typical for an ED deal to be invoice + $500, invoice + $750, or invoice + $1,000. Occasionally, you'll hear about a deal that's right "at invoice." Such buyers are lucky, as even the best ED dealers usually want at least $500 on top of invoice. Occasionally, you'll have a salesperson claim that the dealer would lose money selling at invoice or even at $500 above invoice. The truth is that invoice is not the actual cost to the dealer, as the dealers receive certain manufacturer incentives such as bonuses based on total monthly volume, "spiffs" on certain models and financing commissions. |

Experience is huge. More experience = less screw-ups. So much planning goes into our EDs (airline reservations, travel dates, the ordering process, the payment process), the last thing you want is a CA who doesn't know what he's doing. For a few hundred bucks, it's not worth it. Other factors include convenience, responsiveness and personality. I heard about one dealer that supposedly does "at invoice" ED deals. Maybe they do, but they never answered my emails. Does it even matter how cheap they are if it means dealing for several months with someone who can't even be bothered to respond to emails? Whether any of us does a deal for invoice +$500 or +$750 or even +$1,000 or +$0, the key is to find a CA who's competent, reliable and responsive. |

My temptation is to ask my local dealer if they have ED experience, and then run a $500 over invoice deal by them to see if they can do it, but what's stopping them from just saying they have ED experience (and actually not), and then screwing the whole thing up? Maybe I should post a question in the regional forums asking for recommendations in my area. |

Don't try to find your own ED guy, go with someone who has done a ton of them...its kinda like a vasectomy, you don't want to go to a guy who's only done 1 or 2 of them. |
