F22 halogen to angel eye
Desperate to retrofit angel eye bi-xenon to replace the halogen on my 220i. My local mod shop called their supplier in Taiwan and F22 aftermarket xenon headlight is still in production, usually takes 1 to 2 yrs to develop. he's unsure of the waiting time.
Don't want to get H7 white bulb as I want the angel eye effect. Should've gone for the factory fitted xenon I know but they cost $2500 so I let it go! Anyone on the same boat??? |

Same boat and been doing research for a while. ECS had euro non adaptive Xenons I've been looking at. Just waiting for cheaper inner parts before I take the plunge.

I've been trying to contact some of the mod factories in China, lighting upgrade is huge there. They order genuine parts from BMW China but they are not sure if F22 headlight has come out but they will keep me posted. Also it's LHD there and here in Australia we are RHD.

Try looking for headlights at a junkyard? There aren't many 2 series, so it's going to be difficult, but it's a better option than paying retail and retrofitting imo.

op same boat here too. Been looking for a best way to change out my halogen. I got quoted just a lil over $1400 for retrofit without the angel eyes. I'm thinking about going the OEM route but can't find any good information. If anyone could help point out where to buy the OEM lights with part#, plug and play harness, how to coding, etc..

ECS has non adaptive headlights for the F22. Just need bulbs and ballasts I believe. Still make for an expensive upgrade. Waiting for more to hit the market. F30 has a good thread on this and they are already doing it

Costly, but full replacement is the way to go imo. If you let someone crack open your headlight housing you can be dealing with moisture in your headlights and you might never get rid of it.

Anybody upgraded the halogens to one of the aftermarket HID or LED kits? I'm not sure about the LED ones but they seem easier to install. I'd love to have angel eyes but would be happy with some better light output and color for now.
I've used TheRetrofitSource.com for HID kits in the past and always had good luck. |
