Spring and Coilover Options
I'm looking for more options for the M235i.. I'd imagine there are more companies that make suspension for this vehicle, I'm curious on what you guys are running.
These are the only ones I've run into from reputable companies:
I'm looking for coilovers specifically since I'm fairly particular on ride height, however, the V3's don't go low enough in the rear. Though I probably will go a few millimeters lower, I'd still like the option to be there, especially with coilovers. Edit: Recently heard that F30 suspension may work. Can anyone chime in and verify? how low are you trying to go and what is wheel size? Lowest setting on KW V3 will be rubbing your wheels if you run a 19x9.5 or 19x9 with aggressive offsets.

just fyi.. any of the spring drops out there will be higher than KW's max drop (I want to say ALL coilovers out there drop lower than springs but can't speak for everyone).
ps. OP, are you kevin lai's friend? haha.. i'm from rowland and your user id sounds familiar |

Thanks! I'll definitely look into these, though I'll probably go with KW's coilovers over a set of springs. Quote:

I'm looking to get the Dinan springs installed. Do most of you guys go to the BMW dealer for this? Dealer quoted me $1000 for install. A tuner shop in town quoted me a $300 flat-fee they charge for spring install. Do you get what you pay for in this case?

Make sure to get the car aligned afterwards because all your angles will be off. |

Dinan lowers the rear more than the front. I think this would look much better than the H&R drop that leaves the back sitting up high. Wish there were some pics out already.

I have H&R sport springs on mine. Love the level stance (see iPhone photo below), a drop of about 1"/axle. Ride is stiffer but not silly (important here in uk where roads aren't the smoothest) and it handles like it should from the factory! PD |

Dan- Cheers. These have been available in Europe for last 2 years. Good cars but being challenged by offerings from Audi, VW and M-B. None of them have a straight 6 or RWD !!!! Pave.

Spoke with a KW rep the other day and found out the F30 coils and F22 coils share the same part numbers. That being said, it's possible that other suspension alternatives that fit the F30 (CKS coils etc) will be a direct bolt-on for the F22.
All things considered, I'd assume spring rates would still differ with the F30 chassis vs F22

Bilstein also do their b16 ride control coil overs.
Lichfield imports in UK have system fitted to their m235i and say lots of positives about it http://www.litchfieldimports.co.uk/BMW/M235i

Theoretically, I'd assume so. Didn't verify though

Im extremely happy with my H&R sport springs. about an inch drop front and rear. Adaptive suspension still perfectly functional and the ride is almost exactly like stock. Plus IMO it looks badass.
