A Sportier Stance For An M235i
The BMW M235i, for good reasons, is becoming quite a popular car. We had this Alpine White example come to our facility for a sportier stance and a few cosmetic upgrades. First on the list, we installed a set of H&R sport lowering springs to drop the car by an inch all around. Next, in order to push the stock wheels out to the edges of the fenders, we installed 15mm Macht Schnell spacers in both the front and rear. A more aggressive exterior was created with the combination of a BMW M Performance front lip splitter and a BMW M Performance carbon fiber trunk spoiler. BMW gloss black kidney grilles and iND painted front reflectors provide the final touches on this clean F22.
Modifications: BMW Performance Gloss Black Kidney Grilles BMW M Performance Front Lip Splitter BMW M Performance Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler H&R Sport Lowering Springs iND Painted Front Reflectors Macht Schnell Competition Wheel Spacers (15mm Front & Rear)

I had no idea this was gonna be my car when I clicked the link lol. Thanks for posting this up Rob, I'll be seeing you guys as soon as the rest of my goodies come in.
On a side note the last time I came up to see EAS we where unable to complete a coding session due to the EAS software being unable to communicate with my car. Needless to say the software issue was remedied and the car was fully coded at no cost. Thanks again Rob, Tom and the rest of the crew at EAS! |

It does need carbon fiber mirror caps. I am not a fan on the silver caps on a white car. Actually the caps only look good on a silver car.

I am planning on going the same sort of route. Got my springs and spacers on and could not be happier. Next is more of the body accents and cosmetics.

Well done. Nice pics. Before and after shots would have been awesome.

Out of interest. Do the spacer stay in place on their own or are they screwed to the hubs?

Thanks fellas. I don't think there are any. It gives you a wider stance which could be benificial on a track but for my use of the car...its purely cosmetic. The combo of springs and spacers give it just enough of an aggressive stance to appease my own personal tastes. Im going for a clean stealth look, I think I'm off to a good start. |

Here's my list:
Bad: - Puts more stress on wheel bearings, will shorten lifetime. - Can create rubbing with the tires and fender if the car is lowered. - You risk marring the paint with the crap your tires blast up, usually more a problem in bad weather states. - Suspension geometry is changed, which can be both good and bad thing. - Possible to induce vibration if the spacers aren't properly designed for the wheel/hub mating surface (can be beveled), usually happens for 10mm spacers, while larger or smaller are fine. - You'll need to run longer bolts, but not too long. Good: - After a drop you'll naturally camber negatively and the wheels will tuck in, looks terrible with factory wheels and their conservative offset. - Creates wider track width and thus better roll resistance and a dynamically more stable car (although I wouldn't run spacers at the track). - Looks better (but not too much poke lol). IMO this is what you do for your factory wheels after lowering the car...but if you get aftermarket wheels, get the correct offset so you don't need to worry about them. I run spacers on my winter wheels and they slightly annoying to deal with. |

Im not having any of the issues listed above, shortened life span of factory parts due to aftermarket parts being added is a road people choose to go down. Personally I'm not worried. Thanks for the info, its definately somethings people should consider.
So far none....Im 200lbs. |
