Need advice, calling all owners!
Hello all 2addicts
I wanted to reach to you all in regards to getting your feedback before i pull the trigger on ordering my 235. So here is my dilemma as i'm not sure how important the opt of premium pkg is in this car. If you don't choose premium pkg do you still get the powered seats?? I don't feel like its necessary for me to have dimming mirrors, garage door opener and keyless entry for that kind of $$$. Basically is the premium pkg worth the money? My main concern is for me to have powered sport seats with lumbar support so would i still get this without premium pkg?? I hope to place my order this week so please advice and share your thoughts as i would greatly appreciate your opinion. thanks |

What leather are you getting. If you opt for sensatec then you save a ton of money not getting premium If you get the leather its not that much more of premium because the leather was a $1450 option that is included with the premium for $2300 Overall I don't think premium is that important. I ordered it because when I sold my mini a few year back too many people were looking for the premium pack and it was a deal breaker for some people. I was getting leather so not a big deal.

Power seats with lumbar are standard on the M235i. Leather seating is NOT.
Power seats and lumbar are OPTIONAL on the 228i. The only way to get lumbar is to order the Premium Package (ZPP), which includes the power seats. You can order the power seats separately on the 228i, but not the lumbar support. |

yes you still get powered seats without any packages...
10-way power front sport seats; includes 2-way power-adjustable side bolsters, 1-way manual headrests and thigh support; driver memory for exterior mirror and seat positions (228i: requires power front seats) |

For me it was not worth it. I still got the leather with manual seats and sunroof.....there was still an almost 2k difference on the 228 with choosing those two options and the premium pkg. I just didn't think xm radio, dimming mirrors, keyless entry was worth the extra 2k cost so went without. I have the m sport which does give you the side bolsters which is really nice. I'd rather add the tech package for the savings. Just my 2 cents.

M235i w/o Prem Pkg owner here. Yes, you still get power driver and passenger seats, with powered bolsters. No lumbar adjustment. Manual 2-way thigh support adjustment. Manual 2-way headrest (no headrest tilt).
I was perfectly happy with Sensatec, so the rest of the Premium Package was not compelling enough to spend $2300. Powered folding side mirrors would have been nice, but not for $2300. Same with Comfort Access, since you still get Comfort Go (no keyslot in dash, key just needs to be inside the car). |

I will say I was firmly in the "I don't need most if this crap" camp but I wanted leather and the price difference between that and premium package isn't significant on a lease so I went with it. I've gotta say I love the comfort access, home link, etc. If you're trying to stick to a number you can absolutely do without all of it and just get a base car, but it does make everything a little easier. I find I actually miss some of it when driving my Macan and forget I actually need to unlock the doors for instance. Will say this system is GREAT in that you put your hand in for unlock and touch the top for lock, not like my old Lexus where it was impossible to tell if car was locked or not.

for the 235, he gets powered seats without needeing to add ANY packages. so the statement of the premium package gives you powered seats but not side bolsters is not accurate. |
