My OCD had me call again on a Sunday and to my surprise there was an update.... Sounds like 183.. "Released to carrier, waiting for transport to port of exit"

For anyone on the west coast:
West coast deliveries use NYK Line. Their website is inscrutable. However, if you want to see the vessel schedule prior to learning which ship you're on, or if you just want to confirm ETA, you can use this site to pull up the schedule (this has changed since the guides on some of the BMW forums were first written circa 2005) HTTPS://webapps.dbh.de/sisinfo/SisInfoWebApp.html

European Delivery lead times
I am hearing from two separate dealers that for ED, it is 7-8 weeks for delivery in Germany, plus 7-8 weeks for delivery to the US (East Coast). Is this what everyone else is hearing and why so long for delivery to Welt. Is the calendar at Welt just booked out a month for ED?
I am waiting on the price sheet to come out for the 2015 model year (in case xdrive is offered and in which transmission) so that I can place an order ASAP and hopefully for a July build. CA says they can't place an order or hold a slot until pricing comes out. |

My car has been at the port waiting for transport for about 1 week. Wallenius has no record of the VIN when I enter it. They have a ship leaving today(Tongala) so hopefully it is on it. Anybody else have luck is getting the Wallenius site to show their VIN?

Check it now. Mine arrived at the port earlier this week and is also ultimately heading to MA. It's showing as being on the Tongala leaving today.

so it looks like production started on my car today. it says the estimated completion date is june 4 which seems awfully long to me. i was under the impression that build time was only a week but this is twice that. am i just mistaken?

Congrats. Mine started the 14th and estimated completion is the 23rd. So a little over a week.

thanks for the info. i'll assume the discrepancy is due to some part shortage on my build or something. guess it looks like a july delivery is more likely than june. boo urns!

Yeah, my vehicle started production yesterday, 5/21 with an estimated completion date of 6/5. Seems like two weeks is the current estimated production window.
I can't complain though, much better than the 6/23 date that customer relations mistakenly told me two days ago. Thank goodness my dealer had better info, or at least knew how to read it. Anyone know how much of extra time I should account for for PCD once the vehicle hits the port in Charleston? I haven't gotten my potential performance center delivery dates back from BMWUSA yet. |

I think you're right. Funny though that the person at Customer Relations didn't know that. She clearly told me June 23rd. Who knows, I'm sure they get new people too. Either way...I'm glad she was wrong. Almost went into panic mode.
