Recreating Spin Maneuver from M235i Commercial
BIMMERPOST NEWS Video: Recreating Spin Maneuver from M235i Commercial In a recent BMW M235i commercial [see all], the M235i is seen performing a spin maneuver while backing away from and then leading a BMW 2002 (symbolizing a passing of the proverbial torch). To show that the maneuver seen in the commercial was real (not CGI generated) and also possible with the 8 speed auto transmission, BMW invited two stunt drivers to recreate the action. Pretty cool. Glad it was a real stunt vs some animation.

Nothing at all wrong with a 335is. I sort of regret not following through with finalizing a lease on it a couple of years ago. The styling, exhaust note, dct and n54 are all awesome on that car.

I'm a fan of smaller cars, I don't have to sit in the back lol. They did a really great job with the 235. Need to go to the dealer and check it out myself. |

Nice show, but my German is not worth a damn. I used to drive a 1600 so seeing that old body style brings pack some old memories.

about 17 years ago I learned to do that spin maneuver. There was a driving center in near Zurich (Switzerland) where you could learn to improve your driving skills, emergency braking, avoiding obstacles aso. There was 3 stages of lessons. And on the last stage, you learn to drive in reverse mode, then make a 180° spin and drive on. The only difference in what I learned is that we needed to remain in the same lane. If you look at the german video in started in the middle lane, and ended up in the right lane. At that time, when I learned I owned no car, so I took dady's car which was an E34 530i with manual gearbox. I remember it was not so hard to do it. And really funny.

There won't be a 235is as the M235i is everything the "is" would be. As for the M2, I feel like that's still up in the air. There's proof they've tested something like it at one point, but nothing confirmed as to whether it'll actually be released.

I have no idea what those guys were saying...
Good stuff though, I didn't get the concept "passing of the torch" until reading/see'ing this.
