Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Not sure if it is the same for everyone but $479 a month for the m235i really isn't so bad. |

Was that for bone stock? How much down?
That sounds insanely low...but good for whoever can get one at that price!

"$4,204 Cash due at signing" So really it's a $520/mo (roughly) lease payment that you can buy down if you want to. I've stopped putting money down on lease vehicles, because you lose 100% of your down payment if you end up in an accident and the car is totaled. Instead, I use the multiple-security-deposit option to buy down the interest rate as much as possible. The sum of all your payments ends up being less, and you get the MSD back at the end of your lease. Win, win.

I don't understand what you mean. If its totaled wont the gap insurance cover all expenses for another new car?

Putting less down increases your monthly payments, but reduces your risk should something happen. This of course is when gap insurance is key as the insurance company will have to pay more in the same situation as above. |

Keep in mind those numbers are pre-tax. I got $48,300 MSRP, $46,800 selling price. Premium package, winter package, Harmon Kardon. $519 per month including tax, after $3k cap cost reduction and regular up front stuff. These will lease out better than S3 (my other option) bc the residual is way better.

He is right. You put 4 grand down and it gets totaled driving off the lot, bye bye 4 grand.

I'm sure! I was surprised to learn this as well. It's better to keep the down payment and invest it. Or if you need the down payment to keep the monthly payments in check, simply put that in an account to subsidize the lease payment on your own.

To be honest, I don't know the specific details, and you can probably get answers from your sales advisor. I just know that the security deposits (fully refundable at the end) was a way to lower payments.

Instead of doing money down, you can put up to 7 multiple security deposits on your vehicle. Each security deposit is equal to your monthly payment rounded to the nearest $50 dollars.
IE: Payment $490 ---> $500 security deposit ---> $3500 maxed out security deposits Payment $505 ---> $550 security deposit ---> $3850 maxed out security deposits In the $505 case, sometimes it's a good idea to put a few hundred dollars down to lower your payment to under $500 to save some money. Each security deposit lowers your money factor by .0007, for a maximum of .00049, which is a total reduction of 1.18% from your interest rate. To compare the two using fictitious numbers: $1000 down payment will lower your payment $20/month $1000 deposit will lower your payment $12/month Of course like stated above, you get your money back at the end of the lease, and if your car is stolen or totaled. |

How is this remotely competitive pricing? I shouldn't be able to get into a 328 ($339) for less than a 228 ($359). At least the 328 gets some things standard, like power seats, let alone has the same engine, is larger and overall a more versatile vehicle.
Hopefully these are just initial lease prices/deals to cope with the overly high demand they're expecting... otherwise I'll pass on a 2 series next time. |

Do you get all the down payment back or part of it?
This is a good deal for the m235. Imo I'd wait at least 6-12 months and get one you can negotiate the msrp Down way more.
