I may try this when I get around to it. I just dropped my car off to ship to South Carolina this afternoon. I'm plotting arrival gifts. LOL.

Thread's kind of old, but I just had a question. Forgive my ignorance, but would this mod change the wheel/strut clearance? From reading the thread it seems to, just double checking to make sure I'm understanding this right. For reference my summer wheels are 18x8.5 with an offset of 40. I don't run spacers and I've got maybe 1 cm of clearance between the wheel and strut.

I just got out from under the front end of my car. I found that (at least on my car) the F8x LCAs are not a direct bolt-in replacement. They require a 1mm shim in the subframe mount in order to fit tightly...
I was under the car verifying that the inner LCA mounts were torqued properly and that it was done with wheels on the ground. While I was loosening the bolt on the driver side, I noticed the mounting tabs moved a significant amount away from the arm's bushing center. After fully loosening, I found that the arm had a lot of play between the subframe tabs. A 2mm shim was too big to squeeze in the gap, but a 1mm shim fit nicely. This shim made the F8x arm fit like the stock arm (which I had on hand for comparison). I guess my installer didn't bother checking this and just cranked the mounting bolt down, bending the subframe tabs a bit to meet the bushing center. This imperfect fit was causing noise (slight knock) in certain situations. If you have the F8x LCAs, I recommend you check this out on your car. With the car on ramps (not jacked up), drop the belly pan and loosen the LCA mounting bolt (18mm bolt and nut). I put the shims toward the front of the car because the shims I had on hand fit the front end of the bolt better (the bolt has a taper). Noise is fixed.

No pics, sorry. If you're interested, I could take a pic of the washer I used...
To get a proper width comparison shot I'd have to take an arm completely off the car, probably not fun. The knuckle nut is torqued to 125 lbft...

I think Turner just hasn't got around to updating the list of supported vehicles. The LCAs on the M240i are identical to those on the M235i according to realoem.com.
