Exclamation F22 lci taillight signal problem

I have LCI taillights on my F22. Here's the problem: when I use the turn signals, they light up dimly. If I tap lightly on the taillights, they go back to normal, but after a short time, the issue comes back. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, is there any solution for it?

Taillights are a common issue on these cars. Does your problem throw a code or error on the dash? Usually it does. On cars with incandescent bulbs the culprit is likely a bad ground, you can find lots of discussion as well as fixes around these forums. If you have the LED lights replacing the module seems to be the usual fix, but I'd check the wiring for obvious defects in that case anyway.

I have the same issue with both my right and left taillights. My taillights are LED, meaning they are from the LCI model. There doesn’t seem to be any problem with the sockets or wiring connections. I think the issue might be inside the taillights themselves. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Sounds like a short. Did you remove taillight and check out the connector?

Yes, I checked the connectors, there is no problem. I think the problem is in the solders inside the taillights.

I used it with my own coding for about 1 - 1.5 years, and there were no issues. If you share your codes with me again, I would like to check them against my own.

had a similar issue. At least in my case it turned out to be a bad connection of the pcb connectors inside the tail light. Cutting it open and sealing it was not the most pleasant work, but I got it working again - at least till now

I see I posted in this thread last year. I also had the right rear turn signal malfunction error very intermittently almost from new. Just recently they replaced the REM as it showed evidence of water ingress into the connectors there. According to my SA BMW is aware this is a known problem with this model of car. This repair was also carried out after my warranty expired because they were aware of the issue before that, so it is possible your dealer might do a goodwill repair if they have worked on this issue previously without success. It has only been 6 weeks so it might be premature to call it fixed, but before this repair it was becoming more frequent so I'm hopeful this issue is done with. Just FYI.
